2024 Draft Thread

Interesting to see if we do pass on Jagga if available at 7.

Bo Allen at 13 would be a great get.

Effectively we would have added three big bodied mids in Lalor, Smillie and Allen.
So, it sounds like we're definitely taking Lalor, although that's the assumption other clubs have of us. I'd be happy with him or FOS. Bypassing Jagga, not sure I'd do that.
Happy with the next 2 picks, but then Trainor? Not sure I'd take that risk, especially with other smalls on the table. His medical report would want to be clearer than Heisenbergs crystal.
Mixed bag.

I dunno, but I dipped out a while ago when I wasn't making many games. Something about paying $800-900 a game made my future wife-to-be anxious when saving a house deposit...
My guess is it'd be around $3k, but who knows whether flagflation made things go out of control.
Well, after being forced to buy these insanely expensive new shoes today General Electric, that’s gonna be one particular expense too far for me. Would like to though. Reckon it’d be cool. Hmmm maybe to a group sponsor…..?

Good little interview with The Langford on the AFL site today. Seems he's a real worker and very professional and determined. I know pace is a factor, but gee he ticks almost everything else. Even has a nice little bit of aggression for a side dish to go with the main too.

Welcome aboard old man.

I am definitely a fan.

This will be another surprise for you Ancient Ages, but Ive actually been captaining the ship whilst you've been trying to find your falsies in the pool again.
Nah I have been on this ship since it first set sail.

I wonder when @spook and @Leysy Days will finally get on the right meds and realise that Harvey will be the one of the best players from this draft pool.

Well. I've been a fan from a long way out. Think the pace thing is legitimate and have called that out myself to be honest, but otherwise he plays and goes hard ....and with impact.

People are getting too focused on his pace but failing to see his qualities as a footballer. A midfielder who kicks goals are worth their weight in gold. But those who can also push into the 50 and clunk it are what wins premierships.

I still have him as a sneaky chance at 1. But if we don’t call him name out then or don’t get pick 2 there is no way he lasts to our next pick.

I'd be up for that...

Like the old Gus Bus days. Without the diary leaking secrets of Cleve Hughes Adultmatchmaker secrets...

Hope whatever put you in those gets better soon.

So I'm thinking that just as important as who we select is who we leave on the table.
For laters.

Its a good draft year yeah?
And we like to get a draft year set. The CaddyLynchPrestia collection.
I'm thinking in 2-3 years we might do the same.

Langford. Mad tiger. Stuck at an imploding Melbourne. Ultra professional but its a culture free club. We'll talk.
Think we're a good chance.

Who else? Caddy and Dion were great mates. FOS and Jags? Mr Smith wants to be number 1. Dont think we're a chance.
Hynes and Langford? If we get one this year we should chase the other in 26.

Bringing the Brothers together? It hasnt happened for the McKays or Kings. I think we'd be happy to have only one egg in the Whitlock basket.

Smillie and Blair? Hmm if we dont like him now we arent chasing him later.
But we cant take everyone, not even with 8 picks.
We might have plans to get more in a year or two

Trust the tombstone. If deals were bubbling, he’d report that.
So its too volatile to commit now.
Too many options.
Essendon want to get 18 for Shanahan but he might be gone.
Port want 11 for Trav but he might be gone.
North want 6 for the Viking bhmbg.
We want ?? at 6 but cant trade until we know.

Its all hingeing on 2
