2024 Draft Thread

Dogs dont deal.
It looks like an 8 pick upgrade, but 4 of those disappear with bids.
So shifting 31 into 27 and losing roughly 40 isnt a good deal imo
Essendon?

There doesn't seem to be anybody, Dell. That's why this hasn't happened.

So if there are no trades before the night does this mean they will all/mainly be two club trades? I don't remember any 'live' multi club trades before (a bit complicated to organise in 5 minutes, even if there has been some pre-discussion), but I may have forgotten some.

There can still be trades organised over the weeks off and then announced at the start of the draft.

I see Twomey is not expecting any draft swaps before draft day now so if they are going to happen it will have to be under pressure on the night. Could be a very long first round with the full five minutes being taken on a lot of occasions.
It will be both fascinating and "in the foetal position" tedious at the same time.

Richmond hold the first and last picks of the night. There will be no respite for us.

Whether we trade up for pick two or not, we won't know if it was a good decision or not for years. No point getting uptight about it.
Just got to get behind the players we select & hope for the best.

And this is the Richmond way. Always was, always will be.

Still the same top 6 that most seem to predict as best though. Just different order.
The more I read the more I think the media aren’t getting great mail , which makes me think clubs aren’t sure what they or other clubs are doing just yet , lot of drums for Lalor at 1 and that’s still a bit Smokey , after that there’s absolute speculation at each pick .

Can’t wait

Interesting to see if we do pass on Jagga if available at 7.

Bo Allen at 13 would be a great get.

Effectively we would have added three big bodied mids in Lalor, Smillie and Allen.

I dunno if we'd be addressing our number one deficiency at the moment with those pics from ESPN. Speed through the midfield. We've got a few big bodied mids already.

Yeah, both Smith & Lindsay go one pick after ours in this Phantom. We're also picking 7 players that are 190cm+, which seems unlikely.

Yeah, I'll be thrilled to get speed & class regardless of size. Body size in the midfield is overrated. We won flags with Sheds and Shai winning clearances and the tallest midfielder was Dusty who can't mark. Trent was a beast at 182cm, and our most meaty mid was a 150cm meatball
