2024 Draft Thread

Verdict on Jagga.
Exceptional aweness. 100% ground player. Elite extraction skills.
Prestia replacement. Rolls from stoppage to stoppage.

Verdict on FOS.
Elite endurance. Tackling machine
Cotchin leadership.
Involved in a lot of score involvements.
When he was off the ground opposition scored more freely.
Strong mark in contest.
Has huge presence on the field.

My son was with me. He was in the u15 AFL system a few years back.
He said can we get both?
Says Jagga will Bulk up.

I think it would be torture if we didn’t get the FOS/Jagga double.

Is there any other club who has the late picks they could trade with or are we the only option?

I understand the need for mids and small/medium forwards but personally I would like to see us target the best KPF in the draft as well. We have a massive need for a young high quality tall forward.

If there was one still there at pick 9 I would be seriously thinking of taking him.
No, but...
Short answer is we're well ahead.
We have 2500 odd points after pick 30.
Next would be Melbin with 1700.

But Bris could ignore us if we try to ream them. For example they could trade players for Melbs picks. Or trade their f2 and f3 for picks.

So BL have options. We are the best one, if we play it well

I guess the other thing is the threat of bidding on Ashcroft at 1 which would cost them a lot of points

Theyd only care if it is was a worse deal.
A bid will come at 1,2 or 3.
Whats the best deal they can get.

Imo we negotiate by getting them what they want and so getting us what we want.
(And hoping they lose this weekend!)

I'm kind of getting the feeling they (tigers) really want Jagga and FOS to play/match up together (may have been a big preference for them ?)...hence the hard line for at least 2 top picks in the first 3.

Maybe the boys are super keen on that, and the Tigers see it as a great fit...just putting it out there.

me too, will go as far to say I'd be surprised if we don't land both.

I think I have Jagga locked at 1 right now. I don't know if I can risk pick one on FOS who hasn't put together a marquee performance all year, you can't take pick one based on cameo's from a brittle top age year.

Agreed, need to go a safe option at 1
