Agree, except the "Midfield Coach", we've got a midfield coach playing right now in Ben Cousin's, he should take that role over now up to and including his retirement.

Good idea!

The only other thing missing was "Psychology", the mental toughness side of the players needs to be addressed as well.

Yes, this is where the Clinical Psychologist should probably sit.

Hey Tigerman91,

Maybe you should add Alan Richardson to the list above.

This is a high risk speculative decision.
We get it wrong and we are stuffed again!

Do you mean the coaching decision itself, or Alan Richardson as a candidate?

One would surely guess that, either way, a risk-calculated, informed decision would be made.

After-all, if all risk were to be eliminated, Terry would still be in the job.

voted Hardman and am heartened to be in the majority. I wish PRE could select the side each week by a majority rules poll!

Could select the coach each week from PRE as well

Hutchy's grab for stardom on the Footy Show last night mentioned Williams may be resigned by Port as early as next week. This could mean Hardwick's stocks have gone up a fair way.

I would be happy with any of the following-

Malthouse
Hardwick
Buckley
Hird

Feelings reserved but willing to accept and have an open mind

Hinkley
Williams
Rawlings
Cambell
Cameron

Remember Hawk fans were bleeding over Clarko.

Has anyone mentioned Leigh Tudor, Successful Geelong Falcons, followed by an Assistant at Geelong, then Russ Lyon from the Aints openly admits that they had to poach someone from Geelong this year so they can only go for Tudor because Hinkley was effectively sacked by the Aints when they got rid of Malcolm Blight. Since Leigh has gone to the Aints they have been unbeatable.

Tudor was mentioned early on. He seems a long shot now but I hope the club at least look at him.

Apparently Leigh Tudors hairstyle circa 1990's precludes him from any senior AFL coaching position.

So we should be looking for a coach that has the same looks as Tony Jewell who coached us to our last premiership?

You've done well pharace. Without checking, I think you just remove the 'h'. ;)

Heard Gary Ayers interviewed on NT's ABC Grandstand today. Charlie King asked him a lot of questions about coaching again. Ayres said he is spending a lot of time analysing the lists of clubs with vacancies in the hope they may wish to talk to him. When prompted about his preference for North, Richmond or even Port, Ayers gave a very long-winded answer. Spoke about a Richmond coach needing to clear out the older players. Then said his preference of the 3 would be North.

Thanks mate, I hope Ayresy is patient as the club needs more than a month to make a list, check it twice, see who's been naughty and nice..... ::)

It's not an issue, Ayres is highly unlikely to ever coach again at senior AFL level. He only coaches sides that Malcolm Blight builds for him first anyway.
