Sheedy or not

I want Sheedy , I cant see any young coach being able to deal with the culture that has been ingrained for the last 27 years, we need someone who is tuff and can teach those young kids , they used to say he ate barbed wire for breakfast, well lets start feeding that to to the current team, he would be awesome, we have wanted him for years and now everyone got cold feet, the guy is a champion, awesome player, premiership coach, just because he is over 60 doesn't mean he has lost it this club has had its heart and soul missing since the early eighties Sheedy would bring some of that back, he never stopped bleeding yellow and black and he will bring a lot of richmond people with him, we have tried so many coaches and so many rebulds, lets get the bloke we have always wanted
lets get behind the old kid

Kevin Sheedy ready for Richmond interviews
Jon Ralph | July 07, 2009 12:00am

FORMER Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy has agreed to embark upon Richmond's long interview process in a bid to win next year's coaching role. Sheedy met Richmond head of football Craig Cameron at the weekend.

After 27 years coaching Essendon then two years out of football, Sheedy says he has what it takes to help Richmond.

He would not comment yesterday, after saying last week "I can coach and I want to coach Richmond. How much more do the Tigers need to suffer?"

Interviews are expected to start in the next fortnight and the position to be filled in September.

Nathan Buckley is hot favourite, followed by Alan Richardson, Leon Cameron and Damien Hardwick.

say no to sheeds he his not what we need we need someone to lead to teach if you have a look at the teams at the moment they have coachs who can run chase tackle block box with the players they practice what they preach the game has gone beyond match day nous its a game of preperation

I have no preference, I want nothing to do with the decision and I don't care who is chosen...I just cross my fingers that the correct decision is made and we finally start to get our on-field performance and list development on track and finally get some success back at Tigerland.

Dunno where Ralphy is having a punt these days, but below are the latest odds I could find. I find the Malthouse thing interesting - surely he's a done deal at the Pies now. No? Best value bet surely has to be Alan Richardson at $41.

Michael Malthouse 4.25
Wayne Campbell 4.25
Kevin Sheedy 4.50
Jade Rawlings 6.50
Nathan Buckley 6.50
David King 9.00
Damien Hardwick 10.00
Leon Cameron 15.00
Chris Bond 15.00
Ken Hinkley 15.00
Guy McKenna 17.00
Leigh Matthews 21.00
Craig McRae 26.00
Mark Williams 26.00
Brad Scott 34.00
John Longmire 34.00
Todd Viney 41.00
Alan Richardson 41.00
Brian Royal 101.00
Malcolm Blight 101.00
Dennis Pagan 101.00
Matthew Richardson 331.00

True true. Perhaps Ralphy's version of wishful thinking.

Scooty, you always seem to have a tighter finger on the pulse than most for this type of thing - if you were framing a market pre-torturous-interview-process, how would you set it out??

If you read the Jon Ralph article, he refers to a list of 15 applicants.....maybe his mailman is on the same route as Scooty's

David King $9 ? Pffft.

you have to remember, the bookies will place odds against anyone that any idiot is prepared to put their hard earned on the table.

as such, you are asking the wrong question.

instead of asking how King is getting $9 still, you should be asking how much JB03 layed down to get that :hihi

Sheeds is still 5th. The 'popular' push for his appointment lies firmly in the imagination of the media.

Hutchy didn't quite get that. Only the media is pushing Sheeds, and its not even the whole media - its just KB and his mates

You'll have to forgive me if I'm a little bit gun shy about coaches who make big claims in the media then don't back them up....

Sheedy was not a coach, he was a marketing executive when he said that. ;D

Looks like my dark horse is making grounds on yours Leysy. 8)
