When will Bernie go !!

Yep.

And Dusty can go and play under Dimma at the club that picks him up as their next coach.
He'd get a job as an assistant if he wanted one, but not head coach (in the AFL - and AFL assistant money would be greater than anything he'd get in a lower league).

Thank you lads,

As suspected if you can't defend it with a serious face what he said was as ridiculous and deplorable as it sounded.

I'm not here to defend Dimma's pressers - geez, after 8 years you'd think the astute football observers in the room would know that Dimma says a lot of dumb things in pressers. The best part is the Dimma threads go into meltdown and extreme angst whenever he makes one of these bloopers.

Personally I'd be surprised if his public messaging and his messaging to the players is the same, but hey, what do I know - I don't have the coaches box and pre-game address wired for sound.

Cam Mooney earlier gave Matty Knights a huge wrap-up, saying Selwood and co constantly go to him for advice and that he deserves another go. I've been cautious of favourite son syndrome but he's been away for 15 years, coached his own teams and would be a better AFL coach second time around. Politically it would be an easy sell to the fans. Gale and Balme ideally placed to make the call, knowing the man extremely well.

My first choice Spook.

The players seem brainwashed to Damien's mantra.
How else do you explain last week's missed shot's at goal? Jack & Dusty included.
I'd punt him in a second no matter who left.
The message is stale, the message is wrong. This group needs a fresh voice 2 years ago.
Spot on TOO.

The sad thing is it's not happening anytime soon.

We seem to forget he is contracted until the end of 2018.

How do you know the message is stale and the message is wrong?

Do you know what the message is, or do you do what most posters do and make assumptions based on what he says to the press?

As far as I know no one around here is in the inner sanctum so no one knows one way or another...all we have is guesswork dressed as facts

So do don't know either??

Pot. Kettle. Black

So I assume you are happy with the way he is coaching?

Same thoughts here spook, and then I remember Blight. Disaster as player-coach in 1982, but a genius at Geelong 8 years later (and then Adelaide).

Funny how one strand is taken out of context to weave a myth that gets repeated so often that it slowly but surely turns into reality for some.

Difficult to argue that in 2017 we are playing a more dynamic, exciting style of footy that has kept us extremely competitive in all games we have played so far (except the crows, and even then i believe things would have been closer if Rioli and Conca did not get injured in the 1Q).

The assistants were apparently responsible for the 5 wins and conversely Dimma responsible for the 4 losses. Funny that.

People cherry pick facts to suit their agenda and it's no secret that there is a group of axe grinders that want Dimma gone.

However, right at the moment i believe we have done exceedingly well to be where we are without a quality 2nd (and 3rd) tall forward on the park to help Jack. This point takes on even more significance when you consider how poor our overall recruiting has been over the last number of yrs.

One week at a time for me but as long as we remain in the hunt Dimma will have my full and total support.

Come on Antman, don't be modest, you could barely fit everything you know into Dimma's F50 playbook.

I'm worried for your mental health brother Baron. You can't even write a one-liner without having to edit it these days, are you posting from the old folks home? They don't even scan properly. Check your logic.

Dogs have been ordinary. GWS were ripe for the taking.

As for the effort against the dockers...

Adelaide found us out.

Melbourne should have beaten us. Collingwood, Carlton and Brisbane are really *smile*.

WC's Melbourne form is horrendous.

Our form line is trending bottom six when you look at it.

No need, miles ahead of you Antman, and that has always been your problem :hihi

Just throwing in a hypothetical here, but what if Dusty is waiting to see what Dimma's fate is before deciding what to do. He lived with the Hardwick's for a while and reportedly has an exceptional relationship with him.

If sacking Dimma would cost us Dusty would we do it?

Come to think hmmm If you put it that way
Lets sign up Dimmer for life :happy :happy :happy :happy At least we know we can always book holidays for September

Dimma would be a decent assistant. He clearly lives and breathes football but shouldn't be expected to take on the often instinctive role of head coach.

If this is dementia, it feels good, Ctrl C!

Fair enough, not sure about the copy command but if that means something to you, OK.

I agree with you on the Dimma as assistant thing too - he'd clearly be good at that in the right context.
