When will Bernie go !!

Don't worry. I'm livid with the whole club: all players on field; the coaches; the admin. Just about everyone bar the trainers etc. Sick and tired of their amateur-hour ineptitude. Could barely speak for anger last night.

I just regard it holistically, not simply due to the Head Coach. See my reply to the Baron. It's almost a culture of stupidity pervading RFC.

PS - Just look at the draft selections; the recruiting. Last year Yarran, now Prestia, next Shache?
Agree Leon. RFC is not run as a business its run as a hobby. NO ONE IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE. Not the executive (the review we were having without apparently happening or our wonderful 5 year plan). Not the recruitment group - we still pay the same unsuccessful duds. Not the coaching panel where mediocrity is accepted as a norm - but we are brave and they are proud of the players. Not the players - the same players non performing continue to be played, everyone knows the names. If ever an organisation needed a massive clean out its RFC starting from the top. Have been a member for around 30 years and if there is (hopefully) a board challenge this year I will be supporting it. There looks to be no downside in a change at the top.

Always had excessive fear of what the opposition will do and not enough belief on his own crew.

This will end his senior coaching tenure with us more than anything else.

We actually setup exactly as we were trained to.

As per Chimp interview straight after game. Don't blame the players.

Seriously????????? You trying to tell people you believe the bland gibberish n media speak presented to the public by the coaches n players? All clubs, all coaches n all players sing from the same hymn book every week. Flap the gums but say nothing because saying something creates controversy for the media parasites to crawl all over, as they did a few years ago when Jaaack actually said something while flapping his gums.

Guess the players must have set up against GWS exactly the same as they're trained to do when Shai kicked the match winner as Cotch is reported as saying in today's paper. Only problem was there was a goal review going on so it might not have been a goal and the only idiots who didn't notice and wait for the call were the Richmond idiots, who set up wrong n didn't have time to reset when the call was made. Too busy celebrating instead of thinking n paying attention.

We'll learn from that. We'll get better. Translated to english = We're idiots. We *smile* up again.
On field leaders failed by not finishing off the game properly on both occasions, there's stuff all the coaches can do from the box in the last minute or two of a game as it's impossible to get messages and instructions out to the players that quickly. That's why there's supposed leaders out on the field to ensure all the players are set up in place correctly and concentrating on their tasks properly.

We've been shockers at conceding the lead in the dying minutes of games for years and shockers for conceding late goals or multiple goals deep in time on of qtrs also. That's the area of influence of onfield leadership.

SEN this morning exposing his loser mentality saying we are not brisbane or a wooden spoon team to be proud of that performance.

And I believe we are the highest on the ladder of the MELBOURNE based clubs so all's good.

Yet our leaders have changed constantly over that period. From Newman, Maric, Lids to the current group.

Do you see who the constant is over this period who drives the message/process and needs to ensure that message is so ingrained they know what to do.

Yep - The head coach of 8 years.

Current group of " leaders " have been around the place longer than Dimma. It's a rolling evolution from one generation to the next. Thirty plus years of mediocre recruiting, coaching, playing list, admin etc. etc.

Won't surprise me at all if Dimma gets nudged at the end of this year, unless we go deep into finals. Which would surprise me a hell of a lot more.
Far as I'm concerned though the players need to wear these insipid, incompetent last moment losses just as much, if not more than the coach. Every team has the occasional game where they get rolled over by a last minute charge or streaky error. But that's a swings n roundabout situation, it generally bounces both ways like a pointy footy.
What we've shown over the years is that we're still incompetent when it comes to shutting down an opposition side that gets a run on, or holding off a side against that last minute streaky surge. They keep bull shitting the public with their we'll learn from that, we'll get better chant. Beyond time the players started executing properly in those situations.

Sometimes it's just time for a leader to leave. Doesn't matter whose fault it is that the team hasn't performed but the change of the head honcho has to happen.

The only concern is can the next coach break this screwed up inability to rise properly this club has carried since the early 80s.

Just read this quote in todays HUN from Dimma:

"You learn a lot from these sort of losses" :rofl

The comic stylings of Damien Hardwick everyone! He's here til...no, not Thursday, the end of the season. Try the beef......

He's been trolling us for weeks. Ever since Morris was bought in to play CHF it's been one gag after another.

With all the learning we have been doing over the past year and a half our players must be geniuses by now!

Maybe, just maybe Dimma isn't a very good teacher.

Getting plenty of practice might be a slow lwaerner?

pretty obvious where the 'I'm so proud of the boys' comes from.

he's vulnerable and he desperate to keep the players onside.

I doubt he even blasted the players behind closed doors for fear of losing them again.

when a coach is compromised like that, time to go :hihi

A lot of assumptions there young baron!

Seems ratten is keen to get back into senior coaching we could do worse

Leave Ratten where he is. Ex Bluebagger taking over the reins at Punt Road makes one blood boil. Keep it in house. Prestcott, Matthews Knights, Jade Rawlings be better than Rats.

that's a much better post from you dude. people who know me know I have been saying this for years, but Dimma does not coach in the same way he plays. he is a soft coach who treats the players with kid gloves. His outward persona to me suggests he has never given the players a decent spray in his time as coach. Nor has he ever (as far as I know) smashed them with a dawn training session after a really pathetic loss. Some would argue this is how modern footy is, but I still think there is a time and a place for some of these old school techniques.

hehehe softowick.

You boys are 100% correct. Softowick doesn't want to risk losing the players. This club and board are just happy to scrape into finals. All going nicely. Participation medals all round.
