When will Bernie go !!

Yep it's the one decision the clubs made that has no excuse for making. FJs lived on picking up Jack an Rance and we are just lucky the Dee's had the picks before us otherwise we'd have Trengove not Dusty. We've done it to death but to have gone for flankers over mids and non competive big blokes is simply a woeful theory on recruiting .

It appears Clarke has a much better idea on what it's all about an the fact he wanted Cripps over Lennon gives us a chance to improve.

The club is soft CC. Gale is soft; O'Neal is soft. It's a simple as that. It refuses to make what some would call tough (many call them right) decisions on personnel within the club. Players, coaches, football staff. That Francis Jackson kept his job for so long despite being an epic failure and was rewarded with a consultancy after leaving the chief recruiter position is testament to the softness. Hardwick's unnecessary contract extension after 3 successive finals failures another.

The club is polar opposite to what it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s. No doubt it wasn't perfect and that behaviour ultimately led to some extremely dark times for the club. But before that there were premierships.

Now we are just paddling around going nowhere. Just making a final is seen as "success" at RFC these days.

Surely there is a happy medium between the ruthlessness of 30 - 50 years ago and the stagnation of today?

see I look at it differently from you H. I think he's coaching well. We're a few players short in a cut throat comp. Big nuts to go back to the well, players still obviously playing for him. I'm happy with the coach, need a few more good players. We sack Dimma, what are the odds of getting a better coach? Forget it. Other's disagree, I couldn't give a sh!t.

It's the loser mentality. Keeping an average coach coz you're afraid you won't find anyone above average. He's had 8 years to win a final and hasn't been able to. He's reached his ceiling- average coach. Roll the 3 dice to find a good to great coach. should have been done years ago. We should be now discussing the value of his successor not still debating whether dimma can coach. Stuck in a time warp. Nothing changes.

I agree Harry. I can't see what else Hardwick can bring to the table that he hasn't already tried.

I feel like we're the Doggies with McArtney, but haven't got the goolies to make the change like they did.

8 years is the key. If he misses the finals this year that will be 8 years without a finals win. I'm sure L2R2R will be able to confirm but I don't believe any coach in recent memory has gone that long without a finals win. Not even 7 years as he has done now. Regardless it just should not be accepted from a football club.

Harry is spot on. He's just not good enough. Then again the entire club is just not good enough either.

Hardwick/Richmond is starting to remind me of Harvey/Freo. Coach is ok, not outstanding. Club is competitive but lacks a winning edge. Harvey made finals year before he got sacked and from memory had another year on his contract.

But what did Freo do? They got lethal. They said that is enough. They tore Lyon away from St Kilda and have Harvey the arse. Yes they haven't won a premiership but they got damn close.

I wonder whether we need to concede that Hardwick has done as much as he can and just be pricks and rip a Clarko or a C Scott away?

I've never said he's a dud. He's taken his team to 3 finals series. That's good. But don't think he's a premiership coach. Do you?

I believe in redemption and loyalty.

Vossy would be a top fit

Do you think any of the final years our best 22 has been anywhere near the top 4s best 22s of those years BT ? I don't , I think our list has been well of the top teams and not a whole lot better then teams that didn't make the 8.

Again massive off season this year, in saying that we are still in a position to play finals this year and make it into a succesful year, the boys shouldn't be sulking they should simply pissed off and fired up and ready to hit the rest of the season.....Coaches and Leaders have a massive responsibility to get this season going again.

Everything's good guys. Dimma is proud of the boys. He's very proud. High fives and back pats all round. Fun and giggles at training boys. We're learning and growing.

Why doesn't he 'walk away' like he said then?

I think 2013 was not far off. Probably not 14 and 15.

I think Hardwick is great at squeezing performances out. I just don't think he's got the coaching polish required of a premiership coach
