When will Bernie go !!

Port sitting pretty on top of the ladder atm.
Shortlisted for the RFC senior coaching gig.
Overlooked in favour of Bertie.
Strange decision that.

Didn't take long to hop back on the Hinkley bandwagon, the fact is the last couple of years have shown he isn't the messiah some made him out to be.

The start to the season has been buoyant against sides expected to finish toward the bottom of the table. Ive enjoyed our bright start as much as anyone.
Big picture..this year we surely have to win a final at the very least for him to stay on as senior coach.
Damien already holds the unwelcome record of being the longest standing coach not to win one.
The club needs to rise above expectations of mediocrity. This is a good list with some great players on it, need to capitalise before they are gone..
Agree.
Contentment with mediocrity must be banished from the club.

Yep, you only need to listen to a presser or 2 to work out he has no idea, wont last beyond season..

IMO if a coach cannot rebuild a list and take them to the finals within 4 years, he deserves the sack (Dimma got us there in year 4).
IMO if a coach cannot get us to at least a grand final (if not win one) within a further 3 years (7 years in total), he deserves the sack (Dimma is in year 8 without having won a final).

No, we can keep the mediocrity, we just can't be content about it.

I'd rather keep the contentment, and change the mediocrity for over achievement.

but if it came down to it, I'd take discontentment with over achievement I suppose.

So the latest logic is we should have picked Hinkles 7 years ago because after round 2 his side has a better % than ours after his side missing the finals for the last two years?

Mmmmm? :upside

You will more than likely have some better amo before the season ends. Its like in the game day threads where you guys biache and moan that we are crap after 5 minutes, have a cry that we have lost, calls to burn the joint down, Then we hit the front and win, and we don't hear from you till Port have better % :hihi

Relax guys, you may be able to back up your Truckload of chicken poo soon enough!

Just as the Buddha taught, material success is fleeting: just look at the Hawks Three-peat and where they are now. This impermanence of success leads the successful to fear its inevitable loss - so the cycle of suffering continues. Thus over-achievement will inevitably lead to discontent.

So you'd be happy to be pissed off if we won three flags instead of four then easy?

This game against the West Coast will decide Bernie's fate. Tigers have two wins on the board against opposition that is somewhat suss as far as getting a run in September. A win justifies Peg' & Gale's decision to sign Bernie up for another two years. A loss by a small margin a plus but if Tigers do not stand up & push West Coast good night Bernie. Selecting this weeks team is critical to the rest of the 2017 season. Griff & Sheds out no big deal really as both are soft. Soldo & Chloi are being mentioned but both are as green as grass so if they get in before Kmac & Miles , beware.

yeah. alternately, if we won a flag with a mediocre list or coach, I'll be content too.

Is it just me or is this thread like a weird OCD revenge of the nerds crossed with dungeons and dragons?

It was just after Leon put on the cloak of eternal insults and Bazza evoked the certainty amulet.
