When will Bernie go !!

We looked okay in the pre season games, but there werent many examples of cohesive, supportive spread from the contest.

It was largely the kick and hope we've been seeing for a while now. I like the intent to move the ball on, but changes in collective mindset take time.

Hardwick may like to "hope" it works, but if Carlton sag back to intercept poor entries then we're in for a frustrating night on Thursday.
I know what you mean Baron but there is another change that was very noticeable in the preseason that will help this and that's the tackling and harassing in the forward 50.
The best method is always to hit targets in the forward 50 of course which is something we have been seriously bad at for a while now

So remind me again how many years of footprints Rance, Cotchin, Riewoldt, Martin, Edwardes, Houli, Grigg, Deledio and a few others have over the side.
Perhaps you'd like to explain how many of them were best on grounds during the finals campaigns or all those years of mediocrity?

Heads neither in the sand or up my clacker saigon, it's a two way street. Coachings been average and so have a lot of our players.

List has been refreshed, coaching panel has been refreshed. If we're sh!t again this year Dimma will get his arse handed to him on a plate guaranteed. Wonder how many of our players will get their arses handed to them on the same plate?
All of the above never developed into finals successful players. A blight on the coaching and development with Hardwick the chief culprit. A dud who is taking us nowhere. Accept mediocrity at your own will.

"forced into" playing ninth placed Carlton? Surely you jest.

They were shizen, we finished fifth. Hardwick couldn't beat them.

"kicked into a gale"? You gotta be kidding. It was our decision, maybe even hardwicks, to do that. In any case, we had nothing in the tank after climbing back after being 3-10.

Playing a NM side with "rested talls"? Gimme a break. Hardwick still hasn't found a way to beat either Scott brother.

There was nothing "weird" about any of those losses. They were regulation games of footy we lost at the selection table and in the coach's box.

Yep, it's weird that one defends our past 3 woeful finals losses as "weird".....

Taylor at West Tigers in Sydney didn't even last that long. One win two hidings - clean your ask out Monday morning.

didn't terry wheeler get sacked after round 2? Moot point though as Dimma won't be sacked before round 10 at least (more likely to see the season out IMO). Gale and the board won't have the bottle to sack him early as they would draw questions from the media as to why they didn't sack him after round 23 last year...

Yep, they're painted themselves into a corner where they'll have to give him as much time as possible.

Never learnt a thing from Dimma's press conferences ever, maybe thats because he doesnt have much to teach.

In any case he would know that a loss tomorrow night will hasten the inevitable.

Hardly anyone learns anything from any coaches presser. Brendan Bolton came out today and said that they were going to try and win games. Some great insight there.

Haaarrrrgh!
It's got nothing to do with accepting mediocrity. Mediocrity is simply the fact that is.
Doesn't matter how much we might like to wish n want things to be much better than they have been, we simply haven't been near good enough.

This year with a new footy manager, a bunch of new coaches, some changes to the experienced group on the playing list, a bunch of promising youngsters coming through. There " should " be enough improvement to get us back into finals contention.
Will it be enough to get us to flag contention? Highly unlikely in my opinion.

Nothing more than understanding the reality of a situation n dealing with it as best as possible.

Peter Gordon in the bulldogs doco last night said re sacking mcartney we could have pretended everything was ok or we could have sacked him (or something to that effect) lol.

hardwick - carlton can beat any team in the comp.

Over the top but my view is that they are better than most think.

Which is why I am concerned about tomorrow night.

I am also concerned about you partying too hard if we lose

Big picture, Sinners, big picture ;D

Look, I'd be rapt if Hardwick took us to a flag this year.

But you can't make decisions based on hope.

The empirical evidence doesn't stack up.

Winning against Carlton by four goals is pointless. Literally. I want vision. A blueprint for success.

A club that knows it's going somewhere. We'd immediately get that with a new coach.

You simply missed the point. You see it as in your interests to ascribe total blame to DH for those EF losses. There were other factors at play in each game. I never stated he had no responsibility. My implication was that there were factors in our control; factors out of it. The choice to kick against the wind was, and still is inexplicably bad, but it's not clear to what extent DH's, Cotchin's or whoever's decision.

Another example, any team with Judd in it is not totally shizen. Proven fact.
AFL stuff-up with NM EF; changed the fixture over this to the pre-finals bye. Crucial in Dogs' success in '16.

You see life through a very narrow lens. But forget it, only care about 2017 season now.
