When will Bernie go !!

Pretty simple. sack dimma v keep dimma

This was it, even though the Darkside has desperately tried to change their narrative from "we must sack Dimma to have success" to "we just wanted Dimma to change".

Pathetic backpedaling for most of this season.

With mentioning that some on the darkside wanted Benny and Peggy gone as well. We even still had board challenges being spruiked on here only three weeks ago.

Brightsiders, this premiership is all down to you. And Dimma. And maybe the players.

He has 2 more years...Next year to play finals again...anything less is a failure...and 2019..for finals again...if we dont make finals in the next 2 yrs the pressure will come again.

That will be ten years at RFC....it would be likely time for a change anyway.

Ah, the joyous feeling of mediocrity when you win a Premiership

Wrong. I think you've become a little confused. Allow me to help.

Dimma was an offensive coach in 2012-13. It was about smashing offensive drills to win the footy and get it forward.

An aggressive, high-press territory game. We switched to a possession-style game in 2014-16.

Patient movement, focusing on footskills. again, smashing offensive drills, this time to win the ball on the outside, particularly at half back.

The players he selected in F50, like Morris, were there to keep the ball in.

This was Dimma thinking offensively. Not enough for me, but his intent was aggressive.

We all thought it looked like a defensive setup.

In hindsight, the players didn't have the skill to implement what he wanted us to do.

It wasnt horses for courses and it was bad coaching.

This year he removed all offensive drills. Made it about stopping the opposition chains. Stopping transition.

Almost purely defensive. He and the other coaches reasoned that the offensive side will largely come as a result of the defensive foundation.

And voila, look what you get.

Anytime, kid, no problem.

Patronising post of the year.

That there is :hihi

The happiest bloke in the world right now.

His stirring speech will go down as one of the best.

I cried. Whatever you think of my position, I can't help but like him. The way he carried himself was first class.

This time last year I was of the opinion that Dimma should go. I thought he'd lost the plot and he pretty much admitted that himself. For him to acknowledge his failings and instigate and/or embrace the changes required that have brought us to where are now is a massive credit to him. I didn't believe that he could do it. But he did.

I also thought that Peggy and Benny had run their race and maybe it was a time for change as well. Although the potential challengers left a lot to be desired. But they stayed the course and the proof is now in the pudding.

The whole club deserves congratulations for the achievements of this year; the playing list at the top of the heap. But Dimma, Peggy and Benny deserve a special mention for riding out an horrendous 2016, staying true and delivering the ultimate prize this year. All 3 are also very classy individuals; the humility they have displayed is first class.

Personally I am so proud of the club as a whole and thankful for the feeling of overwhelming joy it has given me after this week. I really didn't think we would get there. So very happy they got it right when so many of us saw it very wrong.

This premiership has proved one very important thing to me.

There is so much that happens at a football club that we as supporters don't see.

What we see is 120 minutes of football every week and public, well rehearsed statements from players and coaches which toe the company line.

We don't see the relationships between every aspect of the club, from the admin, to the coaches to the players. We don't see what happens behind the scenes. We don't see how much respect, and love people have for one another. And how they play for their coach. And how hard they all work. All we have is supposition, which is often represented as fact, and is more often than not proven to be completely wrong. And the critics often show their ignorance by focusing purely on what happens during the 120 minutes each weekend without knowing all of this other stuff.

Sometimes, perhaps those people who work in football, and who have for large parts of their lives, and have experienced success at the highest level, actually know more about the game and what is required than us internet posters!

Well done Dimma. :clap

I still don't get this dumbass Brightside v darkside? .

Caro gave us an insight to the review last year the moved on the assistants. No doubt talented but they only focused on what was wrong with the players and how to fix it. Constant negative undertone.

They brought in a new batch of assistants who were focused on the positives of the players. What they excelled at. How we could use the positives in the game plan.

Result? 13th to Premiership in one year. The Brightsiders saved this club.

If anyone needs to understand the difference between the darkside and brightside there it is. One wallows in negativity, the other wins premierships.
