When will Bernie go !!

When will Bernie go? At this rate, whenever he *smile* wants to!

After 290 pages on this thread Bernie has turned the full circle so maybe we should start a new thread " How long Will Bernie Stay " ?.

I don't know why this thread has taken 94 pages. When will DH go?

1. End of this year if we don't make finals.

2. End of 2018 if we make finals and don't win any.

3. 2019 if we make finals and win one or more.

4. Anytime he wants to leave if we win a premiership (we'll probably contract him for life).

Looking like DH will be around for a while. Good thing too.

His name is Damien Hardwick Dimma to his mates, to you, Mr Hardwick Sir. You just don't get it do ya?

Yep, agree with Baloo. Keep it open.

Will serve as a perpetual reminder of who didn't lose faith. :clap :clap :clap

In good fun, it's interesting to look back after Round 5 when Dimma came out and said he didn't want to engage in a shootout with Adelaide. Darksiders were highly critical of his approach and thought we should have taken an all-out attacking route:

He's gone from "I hope this works" (round1) to "let's not engage in a shoot-out" (round5).

Why are supporters so content to play dumb and just go along with all this?

Meanwhile, the dumb supporters saw value in what Dimma was saying:

We won't win a shootout, but we might win a close, chaotic contest with a couple of fast breaks late in the game when Adelaide players aren't feeling on top of their natural game.

Thus, un-spinnable proof that Darksiders would have cost us the flag.

After we lose our first match in 2018 and the same posters feel that familiar urge of over-confidence in their solutions, hopefully they adopt Dimma's mantra and learn from this. After all, Dimma' philosophies have now been proven to bring out the best in people. Let's adopt a few of them on here :beer

This is the only stat you need. Last 3 games we played against TOP 4 finishing teams for the season and the opposition scored 40, 67 and 60 points. In 5 of 12 quarters we kept opposition to a goal or less. The most goals a team kicked in a quarter was Adelaide and that was 4 in 1st quarter yesterday. Tigers kicked 4 or more goals in 7 of 12 quarters. For defensive effort it doesn't get more impressive than that.

Barassi
Mathews
Malthouse
Hardwick

The only people to have won Premierships at 3 different clubs as a player or head coach.

Maybe just call him Damien or Dimma from now on. The context of the name Bernie in this situation is disrespectful of a premiership coach

Does this mean that we won't be able to start eating our own again until sometime late next year?
No boardroom bloodshed, no shiv between the ribs of the coach? Just peace n love n all things warm n cuddly for an entire year. Boring as bat *smile*. Surely tanties n throwing the toys out of the cot n being broke on a regular basis is way more fun than having an ordered system n planned stability with money in the bank.

I expected a return to the eight, hoped for at least a finals win. Didn't dare to think a premiership was possible on the back of last years miserable effort.
Guess I underestimated badly, brilliant effort by the players, the coaches, the board n the admin and everyone else involved at Tigerland. Bloody amazing what can be achieved when everyone is working together n supporting one another to the max.

Some absolutely hilarious anti-Dimma commentary in that round five thread - good find Kid.

I'm sure I said something profound thereabouts somewhere, will have to dig it up.

Particularly liked the Darksiders saying we should be playing more like Adelaide - and they have the gall to claim they invented Dimmas current game plan. Bwahahahah
