When will Bernie go !!

I love how many on here are now prepared to divest Old Bernie of the need to coach at all.

Apparently he can be our "manager".

Not sure why we got Balmey then. Perhaps the assistants can report to both, like one big happy family?

Clubs win/lose, never as a result of one person or even two or three for that matter.

This analysis is a shallow as it gets.

We have a head coach. He makes the call on issues of selection, etc when the assistants are divided. Someone has to make the call and he is paid to make the call.

Game day. When Pyke moves Cameron onto the ball and Adelaide get the pill moving their way with five mins to go in the third, do ya reckon Hardwick is gonna gather his crew around for a chin wag?

Clearly, he makes the call. Might be good enough this year and I will be eternally grateful for that, particularly after 37 years, but let's not delude ourselves that he is a great coach.

He is a limited coach with great support, and for the hungry fans, that's enough. I understand that.

I typically place more credibility in the opinions of people who have been at the coalface themselves, who have actually done the job that others comment on, over that of anonymous crackpots who make up stories in an Internet forum to try and somehow prove how smart they are.

But that's just me...besides they are all just opinions at the end of the day, some way more credible than others!

Go Tigers!

So... you've come back to that same forum to manically reinforce your point to the heavens.

As it happens, I like to read PRE for unfiltered, non-commercial analysis of football. That's why I'm here.

I find the so-called experts in the media to be trapped in group-think. Watch talking footy and the same stuff will be repeated on footy classified.

Don't worry Tobes, you can keep coming back to tell us you prefer experts as often as you like :hihi

Some may even think you're a crackpot, but I wouldn't dream of it!

Can you have a virtual personality disorder,

And be well adjusted in real life?

I hope so.

And yet that same St Kilda coach has players who played under him, one of whom is a modern day great, say he was the the biggest influence on his career and is still very close to him!

Sounds like a reflection on the iQ of both the player and the coach

Lingy spitballing on Balme. I wonder if he keeps in touch with Blake.

"I can just imagine Balmey at early match committee meetings through the pre-season with Caracella wanting to push this way of playing and ‘Leppa’ trying to bring ideas — and just working with ‘Dimma’ a little bit, just to be open to it.

“And what about that player who has only played 10 or 12 games — and just gently pulling down the walls that ‘Dimma’ might have put up.

“It would have taken time, but they all embraced it together and it’s just total commitment and they are playing unbelievable footy

“It’s so cool when you see all that come together.”

The reason why we are here is not important.

What's important is that we are here.

I get what you are saying, H. But the reason why the Tigers are in the big dance is due to a myriad of reasons, and these reasons must be bottled so that they become part of the DNA of the Richmond FC going forward. It seems that there was and has been a significant amount of soul-searching down by all manner of people down at Tigerland over the past 12 months.
If the Tigers have developed or by happens-chance stumbled across the ingredients for a winning formula and mindset then this stuff needs to be bottled.
But right now, here and now, I am with you ... the really exciting thing is that the Tigers have advanced to the ultimate stage.
I am confident that the Richmond is about to snag the ever so elusive premiership.

Love it BT, this thread needs to be cleansed of negativity a day out from the ultimate glory. Yes, I have been a culprit but it's time to come together ;D

Go get 'em Dimma and go tigers!

:clap

What a performance by Bernie last night on The Footy Show. After a disastrous 2016 He upon himself went away & did a Thinker (Auguste Rodin statue). This insular retreat resulted in Him seeing the light that would enable him to be a great coach. On his return to Punt Road a sanctified Bernie enlightened his flock with his new sculptured wisdom . With His wisdom taken onboard by all apostles at Punt Road Bernie is now one step away from Tiger & AFL immortality. Bernie until then we await with bated breath & will rejoice with you if immortality is bestowed upon you in this 2017 year.

I was waiting for the London to open this morning.

And had a fair bit to drink since.

Will have a tramodole about 2100 and wake up fresh as a rioli.
