When will Bernie go !!

All this gloating by the Hardwick fan club is typical.

Just answer this question would, we be where we are this year without Balme and Carracalla?

Hardwicks strength is he is a great manager but a poor tactician, this was borne out last year.

In all the preening on this page I didn't see one acknowledgment of either Carracalla or Balme by the Hardwick fan club.

I am not sure what your gripe is yandb.

If we had lost or had a bad year it would be on Hardwicks head so to me it makes sense that given the success so far he should shoulder the credit.

But if you listened to his presser he gave generous credit to his support team.

The message from the club is clear - it is a whole club and team effort- the players play for each other and I think the club works for each other - it is a team effort. So as supporters we should follow suit and not argue the Leppa verses Balme verses Hardwick verses cara. We should just sit back and enjoy the ride.

The straw man is not bad. But unbridled love for McFlyXpacellerg and Balmey is universal, everyone knows that, well I thought everyone knew that, until now. But yandby describing Dimma as having ‘great strengths’ won’t cut it. Not even close. You’ ve been consistent all year in the face of strong evidence of improvement across the board, you can’t drop the ball now it’s the business end. We’ve all got to do our bit. Gotta stick to our routines pal.

boy oh boy.

a quiet tip to the those who insist on dredging up animosity like nerds who were teased too much at school:

the only thing you'll get from darksiders is joy.

yep, we're burping Chanel bubbles and sh!tting cuddly teddy bears.

what a win!

Where would we be without Benny and Peggy? How about the list management team? What about Cotch and Dusty coming of age?We have said all along its about more than a scapegoat!

Takes a decent human to give credit where its due, after the amount of shizen you guys have spread!

But keep dishing out excuses so you don't have to give credit to the Hardnut! Live in denial that he isnt one of the best coaches in the game over the past 5 years.

it is, and fair dinkum, does anyone really think that if the opposite scenario had happened and we'd gone out in straight sets, that the Extreme Dimma haters wouldn't have had a crack? It would have been I-told-you-so city. Funny stuff. Live by the sword, die by the sword baby. 8-

I'm sure if we'd just said "let's just enjoy the misery together" they would have backed right off and shown great respect.

all I see here is someone having a massive sook.

"but ... but ... what about us, darksiders! don't go off and celebrate without acknowledging us!"

OK, people see what they want to see I guess. I see someone who is grinning like a shot fox, and you could say having a bit of a gloat. Not massive, just a bit of a one. Which IMO is fair enough considering the protracted nature, subject matter, and tone of this thread. As I said, live by the sword, die by the sword. Are you suggesting that the Dimma baggers wouldn't have laid the boots in if we hadn't won a final? Think about that one for a sec. She's been a ding-dong battle, a stupid one, particularly in hindsight, but a ding-dong one none the less. 3 more weeks. 8-

I like this. So 'the club' is tremendous and rock solid, so good in fact, that it doesn't matter who the coach is, they're a lame duck. Creative. Still reckon you can lift though TD, lame duck is a pretty soft step down from total liability.
So let me understand or at least try to understand. When common sense and the clear stating of facts (in this case regarding Hardwick’s poor coaching record and who he kept playing and why which led to a disastrous 2016 season, but not before being rewarded by the club with a contract extension – followed by the club, with egg on its face, surrounding Hardwick with football coaches and managers) is irksome to many on this blog, you invent arguments and even words that I along with other’s did not say in recent posts, to give credibility to your point of view. Clearly there is a career for you in politics. :rofl

Without the support base the club surrounded Hardwick with before the 2017 season we would not be playing finals. Simple really and as I have written over the last few days Hardwick can consider himself the luckiest coach in the AFL.

And how lucky considering our draw over the first 6/7 games, defined by the most even football season most have seen in many years. Lady luck has shone on Hardwick in many ways and I hope the side wins the premiership.

Is Hardwick a great coach? No he is not but he has excellent support around him now and a much better list to “help” select from. I loathe such American terms as “Darksider” which means? I am a realist and I know the club would be correct in having Plan B in place to replace Hardwick come the end of his contract. It’s up to Hardwick to perform now and in 2018 to get another contract extension.

Personally I don’t like the idea of a 10 year term coach in any sport. It breeds complacency and nepotism.

"Where would we be without Benny and Peggy"?
Clearly in a much stronger position, a lot sooner than now.
Are you not forgetting the fact that Benny & Peggy preached "stability" year after year despite overwhelming evidence that the football dept wasn't up to scratch.
Numerous people at the club, including Hardwick himself have admitted he lost his way and change was needed.
Clearly it was,as we now find ourselves in a prelim as opposed to the laughing stock we were this time last year.

Thank God for Neil Balme , I say.
And thank God Benny and Peggy finally woke up and instigated dear old Ernest.
Ernest had to tell the people running this club the importance of appointing "the right people to the right positions" coz dear old Peg and Benny couldn't figure that one out for themselves.

Those stability years were more lost years for this club.
So it beats me when people give a wrap to Peg n Benny.

why are you gloating?

the jury is still out whether Dimma is a good coach.

the QF win is sublime, we're all on cloud nine. but the players are telling us that the new assistants, along with fly, are a heavy influence.

two things I am happy to concede are:

1) dimma has done well to keep the players on-side

2) a man can evolve. dimma has no doubt learned much over the past twelve months

hence my confusion - why are a bunch of posters coming on here looking for apologies when they should simply to happy to see flag 11 on the horizon?

do ya think Chris Scott is a good coach? he's a premiership coach but benefited from an all-star assistant roster and a great playing list.

in fact, the only way the club could improve Dimma's performance was by forcing him to coach less :hihi
