When will Bernie go !!

"The welfare of the player is always the first and foremost thing in our minds, and for Chris to find God to get his life back on track is certainly exciting for him," Hardwick said. Well I’m not surprised he said that and I’m not surprised the kindergarten masquerading as a footy club down at Punt Road would endorse such a mindset.

I still believe the priority of any AFL club is to win a premiership (rather than playing mother hen) and the continued inability of the club and Hardwick as head coach to achieve that and along the way make blinding mistakes like actually recruit a Yarram is by any measure examples of failure. There are many more examples of Hardwick’s poor coaching record that have been discussed ad infinitum on this site.

When will Bernie go? Without the need to sit on a fence and debate this topic further; I hope he is gone by October and the RFC have done their job properly and have a better replacement ready to go.
Where is the part where he says Yarran will learn from this? Yes so over Hardwick. Next please!

I'm not sure how we judge him if we say finish top 4 but get rolled by Adelaide then Sydney in competive games, is that really are fail again ?

it will be seen as that, but probably shouldnt.
once the initial disappointment is gone, i reckon i would see the year as a success if we lose 2 high quality finals to 2 truly good teams- the swans are the only team outside the top 4 that qualify as that.
conversely if we got belted wk 1, come out wk 2 and battle past the dees or weagles for example then get belted again in the prelim i wouldnt be happy.

going into the year i wasnt sure where we would end up, but my 'pass' mark was a team that is competitive with the very best, and ahead of the pack that typically makes up around 7-12 on the ladder. so far we are on track, but the remaining 4-8 weeks will tell the tale.

My gut feel is that whatever happens from here Dimmas will see out his current contract and coach the tigers in 2018.

However, I hope the club will have learnt from past mistakes and not rush to offer up a contract extension this time. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there is a succession plan in place for Caracella to take over from Dimma in 2019.

Our finals failures were not down to the list. We didn't lose to 'top 4' teams. We lost to Carlton and Norh FFS. Only Port was really up and running and a threat that year. Something else was at play and at the heart it was coach driven. Poor mental preparation, poor selection, poor game plan, poor match day. Take your pick. The elements were all there and finally acknowledged this year when so many, but not all, of those issues were addressed rather than ignored.
Reckon that if you'd also mentioned the bit about poor skills n poor decision making under pressure, you'd have absolutely nailed the reasons we've been a mid tier side for years lamb shanks. Got a feeling in me waters or beer or jimmy or whatever it is I'm sippin, that this year won't be any different. Believe top four flatters us n we're just as likely to be straight out the door again when finals roll around.

Tigers are like Coles " Down Down " at the moment so tomorrow Tigers better bring home the bacon or the price on Bernie's head will go up.

We will learn from this mistake.......

reckon dimma might just have broken through a barrier today.

we didn't close up shop at any stage.

so good to see.

Amazing what happens when you kick straight. Players get a rush, scoreboard pressure increases, opposition heads drop, and it all snowballs.

Yeah. Was it 6.0 or 7.0? That straight kicking changed the whole dynamic of the team. The confidence just started oozing all over the park.

Yeah said the same elsewhere. Makes a massive difference.

Hopefully they bring that for the next month and a half

Red letter day for Dimma, going in with 3 wins and a draw from 12 starts against Ross The Boss. Although Freo have fallen away, it underlined what a bad loss it was in the first clash at the MCG.

Wouldn't it be nice to, just once, come out and put a battling team to the sword from the get go like a top 4 aspirant should. Like Sydney did to Freo last week.

Why can't we do that Dimma? Why can't we smash a team by 10 goals? I just don't get that statement from a senior AFL coach. It's rubbish.

Just smash them Tigers!!!

There you go, got your wish Riddles!!

Sad, just sad......

imagine where we'd be if we applied the blowtorch in other games instead of applying the handbrake after having a 5 goal lead. either way, it'll do wonders for the confidence of everyone going into the next few weeks.
