When will Bernie go !!

In the past 17 years we have played in 6 finals, winning a semi-final against Carlton in 2001 and losing the rest. Hardwick is coming to the end of his 8th year as coach with a less than impressive win/loss ratio; it's well recorded on this blog that he is a useless game day coach. He clearly plays his favourites who continually go missing when the crunch is on. The opposition worked out years ago that the Tigers are mentally weak and continue to be so under Hardwick and exploit that fragility time and again. Our goal kicking is an embarrassment and has been directly responsible for games being lost in 2017 and continues to cost us dearly every week.

assuming the bulldogs take the last finals spot... if you were an opposition coach in the 2017 finals and you could choose which team you can play in week 1, who do you think they would choose? I would say they would choose either Melbourne or Richmond, because they are the 2 most vulnerable teams. Melbourne because of their lack of finals experience, and Richmond because of our mental weakness and habit of always losing the big games.

Well, in the spirit of 'Bernie says', if you take all of our finals losses since 1980 out of the equation, you'd dread to play us!

Yep and if you take out our last 5 wins in 1969 we dont make finals and therefore dont win the Premiership.

Jesus there is some rubbish spoken on this thread.

further to my post, Sydney could end up with the biggest dream draw in finals history... they could draw Melbourne first up, us in week 2 and GWS in week 3 or (or Geelong). they would go in favourites for all of those.

We could end up with a nightmare draw.

If we end up fourth we play Adelaide away and then Sydney the following week at the MCG.

We need to somehow snare third spot.

no. we need to finish 4th and rely on Port finishing 5th. If we have to face Adelaide in Adelaide, it has to be in week 1, not week 3.

Agree! Nice to see someone is thinking flags not just finals.

If we win this week and Port and Sydney both lose (which is certainly possible), then I believe we have sewn up a top 4 spot.

Would be good having that in the bag with one game to go.

Was thinking the same.

If that happens, gives us a great opportunity for player management.

I would definitely rest any player with a niggling injury. Maybe rest Cotch, Nankervis for mind. Maybe Rance too. freshen them up

Play all the players coming back from Injury, Hampson, Griffs & Conca. I would also give Ivan Maric a farewell game (maybe rest Jack R too and have Ivan at FF).

Stuff the AFL if they crack it, what did they do against Nth or Freo?! Nothing. Just added a week's break.
Winning the final and getting the right momentum is important.

Would be bloody fantastic and great for the blood pressure. In saying that not real confident on any of the games.

yep. those 3 results will definitely take the pressure off. and because we play Sunday arvo next week, we will know what we need to do to manipulate a certain finishing position on the ladder.

I wouldn't be against resting some players but we need to remember that will mean 2 weeks off and then possibly 1 game in a month if we win.
With those guys coming back from injury we need to consider vfl finals eligibility. If they play afl rd 23 can they play VFL finals? Some of them will need as many games as possible.

Bernie just started to bleed with Sydanee sniping Stone The Crows. Dorkers aint going to be a soda pop tomorrow & if we go down Bernie's cat better go on vacation.
