When will Bernie go !!

The only fight & anger I saw in him was when quizzed about Cornes.

No anger in that performance.

Usual words.

Is that why he is liked as he doesn't fire them up?

There was No fight or passion in that presser.

That first half was like watching them late last year against the Swans & GWS .

This was an important game. Now we face survival to stay in touch of the top 4 and even remain in the 8.

Lions will be no gimme at the Dome.

Nightmare if we lost Blake now.

Without doubt if we lose to the Lions we will miss the finals. I'm not sure that the club or supporters realise how precarious our position is. All the talk of top 4 and premierships was ludicrous given we still need at least another 4 wins to even qualify which is no easy feat for our feeble team.

The value of Hardwicks post-match reviews is zero. He performs in them as he does in the coaches box – the same responses week in and week out to different games played in front of his nose has become his norm and it appears perfectly acceptable from the president down to the head of the Football Department.

He remains stagnant, predictable and devoid of such basic emotions as anger, disappointment, even frustration. The game today was a disgrace laying bare all the short-comings of a side, often discussed on this site, that in its current form, in an ordinary year, will not get anywhere near a premiership.

There is no easy fix but if Hardwick and the major players in the recruiting department are still in place at the RFC at the end of the 2017 season, then its obvious the real problems lay with those in charge of the administration of the club. Making changes at that level has proven impossible over the last ten years, exposing the real problems at the Tigers.
Yep.
The club needs a clean out.

Book mark it Caracalla to replace Buckley , hardwick two year extension, I called the last extension November before they offered it.
Maybe that explains the non protest effort last night!

We’re very competitive, we’ll keep games close. We’re not going to win games by 10 goals, we’re not going to lose games, hopefully, by 10 goals either. It’s always going to be an arm wrestle." Herald Sun, June 17. Who said this?

Entirely dishonest performance.
Yep, twenty two players out there n not one put the hand up.
Sadly it's something that's become completely ingrained at Tigerland over the last thirty five years. Every time there's a period of reasonable performance n effort n the fans start to believe that the nightmare might nearly be over. This same pathetic, inept, dishonest monster rears it's ugly head.

Good teams rarely if ever surrender n get bashed for most of, or an entire game. Good teams may get beaten for a qtr here or there, but fight out the rest of the game, take control n stem the flow of an opposition team. Good teams often belt the suitcase out of lesser teams or have long periods of sustained success against them, mediocre teams eke out enough wins to keep the fans hoping n play the occasional final.

Richmond haven't been a good team for a hell of a long time, reasonably competent at best n bloody crap awful when not at best. Still the same old issues of poor skills, poor decision making and collapsing to absolute incompetence under duress.
Team is still miles away from being a premiership contender, regardless of who coaches them. Still a mid range team, around the fifth to twelfth range depending on season injuries and match draw. Might win a final here or there but three or four finals wins to get the flag, phhhhht.

Couldn't agree there more TM.

A disease
Cultural issues
Poor when pressure is applied
Leadership from coach to the players when the focus is on us & crumble will not get us anywhere.

It's like the media & others know when we have a write up and mentioned as doing something special we stink it up.

I knew that performance would occur, obviously not that first half, but when I saw articles, media on tv & radio talking us up they serve that to us supporters.

This group can't be trusted.

The only thing is a conspiracy TM and I know you like them. Did something occur prior to the game or the week?

They highlighted Dusty in deep conversation with a female employee and mentioned he was in tears? He stunk it up.

It's up to the coach & players to respond not only for next week but for the rest of the season.

I don't trust them now and will not be sucked in by Dimma (our best is yet to come , mark my words ) or the players.

I'm expecting the worse.

Jack looked distressed at some point as well, early in the game, He looked physically okay later and he can't have blown up that early. Our guys were wearing black armbands. Anyone know why? There's no excuses, but that may be an explanation for the behaviour, because it was weird that the team went in with a collective mindset of 'can't give a *smile*.'

Pretty sure there's a wise old saying about actions speaking louder than words. Pity so much was said during the week that we had nothing left to say when it mattered last night.

That's right Carn.

Forgot that.

Jack was in the back line that first part of the first???

What was going on there?

And he was off early on ( bench )?

So true TM. Their actions have a foul odour/stench.

An absolute disaster if that were to happen. Given Balme was instrumental in getting Caracella to Tigerland I'm hoping that he will fight hard to keep him.

They've done that a bit with Jack early in games over the past couple of seasons, but it was the wrong game to puil that rein last night. He also went up one handed for a mark early in the game and they wondered if he was carrying something, but he looked fine later on. Something going on, don't know what, but would like to know what was with the black armbands. If a team gets bad news late about someone close to them it could throw them right off and they were so collectively bad as a group last night that it makes me wonder why.

I know Carn.

Collectively all bad.

I think we are just looking for something to explain that first half.

Second half lifted but damage was done. They looked like they had concrete in their boots.

Conspiracy theory - the players have been told that Blake is leaving and the players aren't happy.

Yep. Coach after coach, playing group after playing group, it keeps happening.

For me last night was not a blame one individual situation, it was just a straight out shithouse club performance, it happens, key is too bounce back and to quote Dimma, "learn from it". Not sure the facts , however I don't think many other clubs have been in every game bar 2 with 5 minutes to go and I'd guess every teams put in a couple of Barry Crockers.

Disagree.

We are the only club that reliably disappoints just when we're set to take a big step forward.
