When will Bernie go !!

I would have played Ivan over the past month. yes I know he's not really suitable for the role but all he needs to do is provide a target and help bring the ball to ground. he can also provide a chop out to the nank.

Not sure if you saw the VFL on Saturday. I'd have Ivan's cousin a mile ahead of him. And I'd have George/Butler/Rioi/Bolton/Stengle way ahead of Soldo.

We are stuck with what we have this year. The concern of course is that Jack and Nank will be rooted by Round 20.

I am surprised that Dave doesn't spend a few minutes in the ruck. He's our second tallest.

that's fine. Soldo for Edwards then.

Leppacella doing a great job propping up Bernie.

Props to the props

Bernie may well be learning how to be a good coach after all.

Depends who is coaching on the day(s), Bernie or Leppacella. It's always so confusing working out who is really coaching the Tigers these days. If only they'd tell us in advance, perhaps when they announce the teams on Thursday. Would help with tipping, and also to prevent howlers like this:

wouldn't be surprised if port won this by six goals.

Where is the controversy in that statement?

This is the nitpicking of a barfly, nothing more.

Reckon it might have been that sheila sitting in the box next to Dimma on Sat arvo. Probably just told Dimma to stay in his seat n play with the headphones so he wouldn't get bored while she organised how the boys were to play. Probably had Balmey doing the tea n bikkies run as well to keep him from getting into mischief.

"Our best footy, mark my words, is still in front of us."

I did like that line. He delivered it straight faced and with a very determined look. It was a different Dimma than the normally blokely, friendly, jokey Dimma.

Let's hope he's right.

That's my main concern making finals.

Will it be sustainable with this forward set up?

Jack needs help. Can't have Jack rucking.

Nankervis has been tremendous. Rucking lone hand. He needs assistance. These two could really need a chop out heading into the finals

I know we have a weeks rest before the finals this year. Can they keep going?

This next block will show us much more about Dimma , coaching staff & the players resolved.

Really be a test of his coaching & his template going forward.

Yeah, I really picked up on it as being unlike his usual style. It was almost pro wrestling style smack talking.

We shall see, I would have sacked him last year so I don't have that much confidence in him... but obviously I would love to be wrong.

He got a wrap from the Talking Footy boys tonight. Carey sounded very impressed with the way he has transformed the side this year.

maybe after the granny speeches, balmey will knife him in the back on the podium?

Saints by how much?

'Playing to their natural strengths/instincts' is a phrase I have heard more than once from our players this season.

This is a big departure from years past where it's been quite the opposite where it's been robotic structures and players refitted into unnatural roles.

I'm not sure who is responsible for this welcome change of direction but ultimately it's Hardwick who's embraced it.

Damn it's enjoyable to watch us play footy this year by comparison to last year. Chalk & cheese.

Not saying he will, or even that we'll get the double chance, but unless we can finish 1 or 2, then we'll have to play either Adelaide or GWS away in the QF, could easily lose that and make the semi a must win, which is the situation that we fall over in.

I hope Dimma is right with his prediction "our best footy is in front of us".

3 things that are stopping us from being a powerhouse:

1: inaccuracy
2: bombing the ball into the F50 with no KPP.
3: a little bit of finesse in the skills.

Get these 3 things corrected and the sky's the limit.
