When will Bernie go !!

It's been a massive turn around on Dimma's part.

To completely re-invent himself like this is a credit to him, but in some ways this isn't unlike the Tigers of around 4 years ago.

If memory serves me correctly, we were laying more F50 tackles than anyone with King and Nahas the main pressure men (though nowhere near what we're doing now). If you spoke to any boundary umpire at the time they would have told you that we were the hardest team to keep up with such was out ball movement. We just progressively started to crawl into a defensive hole until we were moving the ball so slow you'd have thought KB's statue had 22 companions.

The best defensive sides going into the Port game were us and Port. Our full team defense snuffed their rather potent forward line right out. Their defense didn't manage to hold us to any less than any other team has managed ie that 70 to 80 point range.

At the end of last season i was bleeding we were still stuck with Dimma, but now i have a lot of respect for the way he's turned things back so quickly. We are definitely the most consistent side in the competition so far this year.

Getting rid of Lids and TV doesn't seem to have hurt morale either.

We all loved Lids as a player, but there were issues reported (that we don't need to revisit).

It's nearly time to start reviewing whether Peggy and Benny's decision to extend Beavis for 2 years at the start of 2016 was in fact a very wise and shrewd move by the club.
Masterstroke by the Pres n CEO. If we hadn't covered our arses with a proper two year extension Eddie Colonwood might have come sniffin around trying to poach our coach of the year contender to replace Figgy.

I did like that line. He delivered it straight faced and with a very determined look. It was a different Dimma than the normally blokely, friendly, jokey Dimma.

Let's hope he's right.

Hope that turns into his "You. ALL O F YOU" moment.

Was he wrong about "the one step back to go two forward" or "best list I've had in my time at RFC" either? Although pilloried and ridiculed on PRE and everywhere else?

I really think I need the opinion of the Baron and all the other darksiders to critically evaluate your comments here.

Yeah, I mentioned this in another thread. He's right about the ten goal thing as well.

Benjamin Frankilin said that if everyone is thinking alike then no-one is thinking so it was great they got rid of last years assistants and brought in Caracella and Balme and leipeitsch returned. This new found thinking might explain why this years selection committee is no longer selecting Hardwicks drones and would explain a vastly better game plan with an emphasis on tackling which was never high on Hardwicks radar or mantra over the 7 previous years. Just hope the rest of the thinkers don't agree with Hardwicks " we'll never win by 10 goals " nonsense. Hardwick could never sue for unfair dismissal as he has been given so many chances and assistance to get it right. Now for some match day coaching lessons.....

Yes Tooheys, many on here seem content to forget that our window began in 2013.

We have a coach who pulled the wrong rein in 2014, 15 and 16, stubbornly refusing to see things weren't going to work his way.

Instead of being finals wannabes heading into 2017, we could've at least had a PF or two under the belt. And now he's lapping up the adulation like he's some kind of seer.

September.

After eight years you wanna be biting deep. The first step is top four.

Looking at the run home, no reason why we can't win six to give us fifteen. No excuses. Entering September without a double chance would be a failure in itself.

I think it goes to show leon, that there are many posters on PRE, and in fact many supporters in general who think they know exactly whats going on behind closed doors at the club, and post as if they do know, when in fact they have absolutely no idea just like the rest of us. They will have us believe they know the impact that the coach's words in a press conference have on the players and their mindset, what goes on at training and in the coach's box, what reins the coach pulls and at what time- when the handbrake is applied and so forth.

As far as I know there are no posters who, not only are involved at RFC at present, but ever have been at RFC or any other AFL club, yet they would have us believe they know more about the modern game than the full time coaches at the club. Its laughable.

This forum is full of supposition which is passed off as fact. We have probably all been guilty of it.

Anyway, at the moment Im enjoying the way they are playing, regardless of who is the brains behind it. But im not sure, with the couple of structural weaknesses we have, whether we can be a real threat in September.

Yep, it's a bit early to be crowing yet as if the job is done. After all, this is Richmond....

The same material you've posted, what, 40 times or so, derivative and unoriginal.

On one thing I agree through - our remaining draw means we have a good chance to go deep into the top four come end of the regular season.

That would be a massive acheivement given the change of game plan and the amount of young blood in the side this season.

In the Age Cotchin saying he is playing free and loving the game again. Saying he was playing under a black cloud previously. He played like a dud at times under the dour defensive slow game plan the players were forced to endure. Amazing what a good game plan can bring. Exactly what some here were saying we needed. Well done Leppacella for bringing in this game plan that promotes attacking exciting adventurous play.

Yep, well said Harry.

Players we out a line through all if a sudden become better simply for that reason.

Hopefully re-sign Leppacella for a contract extension ASAP.

Been working wonders, Harry. Boys are playing football again.

Sheedy still pushing the Dean Wallis barrow with a statement Wallis should be picked up as an assistant coach in a AFL team. Given the Essendon connection with our present coach maybe Wallis will unpack his briefcase at Punt Road.
