When will Bernie go !!

Ave 25.33 21.83

Lloyd conveniently left out.

Sydney also had Papley 20, Haywood 18, Heeney 21 and Hewett 21 in there starting forward line.

Am sure they blame inexperience as well.

Hardwick needs to get creative with what he has at his disposal. Creativity & risk are not his strong suit as a coach.

Not Floss.

I'd probably look at moving Riewoldt out to CHF and trying Lennon out of the square.
I'm not a huge fan of Ben's but there's no doubt he can sniff a goal, is a good kick at the sticks & a reasonable overhead mark.
Another option is moving Astbury forward with Garthwaite & Vlastuin to go back into defence.
If don't want to mess with Astbury from defence & Lennon doesn't work I'd go to Chol to create a contest.
Mabs needs senior exposure at some stage. No point having a tall floundering in reserves with a desperate need for a 2nd tall fwd.
Just needs to create a contest.

Only time would tell if any of the above would be successful but they have to try something.

I think your excellent analysis beautifully reveals the extent of Dimmas dilemma.

He was forced to do too much because because the assistants were providing SFA support.

See. Easy to play your game H.

Poor Bernie. Perhaps we give him another 8 years with new assistants recruiters and players. He looked himself in the mirror after all. It's a results based industry and all bernie has delivered is excuses.

we'll be 4th on the ladder on monday.

Now, that's comedy for you ... surely??

Hardwick said we have two choices -- play a rookie tall, or choose the best 22 players from our list. An option was to allow Dusty or Vlaustin to play more time in the forward line, simply because they create an aerial contest. Once the ball hits the ground, he thought that the advantage would be ours.

He wasn't saying that Vlaustin was going to play a centre half forward role.

OK Fonzie. 8- I know it's difficult to admit your were wrrrrong. Allow me to make it somewhat easier.

hayward 19 Astbury 26
franklin 30 rance 27
hewett 22 Grimes 25
papley 21 Ellis 23
reid 26 Houli 29
jack 30 Mcintosh 23
Total 148 153
Ave 24.67 25.5

Heeney played in the guts and Lloyd 24 was playing on the wing for much of the game. Happy to replace him for Hewett though.......

He also didnt have an answer when asked if we could win a final without a second tall.
Surely within games when match-ups allow Astbury could roll forward and try and do some damage. Give him a licence.

Or for the sake of Jack and structures may have to weaken the back half a smidge to strengthen the forward half - use Batch or Garthwaite.
Throw Astbury forward, at keast try it. Ruck K Mac Not Grigg.

Or play Nank deep and ruck Ivan. Do something, anything. Just cant be that small though will get found out down the line against atrong teams in big games..

It sounds like we think if we throw Astbury forward for a quarter and it doesn't work that he'll immediately forget how to be a defender and all his recent improvement will be lost.

everyone thought we were bottom 4. were not. were in and about top 4.

thats factual

I really struggle to appreciate the part-time (after a loss) righteousness?

the only conclusion I can draw is, its a weird kind of delusion.

Thats OK though. everyone has weird delusions.

I just imagine mine are heaps more fun than you blokes'?

Fun is winning finals and flags. It's been 16 years since we last won a final and Bernie has been steering the ship for half of that time.

16 years.

i agree.

But I also have heaps of fun along the way.

I guess thats where the difference lies?

I used to enjoy dancing at the disco, even if I left alone, which was about as vast majority of the time as you can get.

;D

After 16 years you'd at least want to get to 1st base.

I always had some great moves on the floor. always a sheen on my grey rivers, i wore the acid-washed well, and my Balance T was ironed sharp.

I think it was the ears?

You're lucky. My mum used to put a crease in my Lee jeans

ouch

if we wanted any ironing done, we had to iron.

when I was 17, I burnt my ears pretty badly

We need LTRTR for stats on games lost from the coaches box.

Doubt we've ever had a better exponent than Bernie.

Um, factual is we are 6th. And have lost 5 out of the last 7.

i said weve been in and about the top 4.

weve spent half this season in the top 4. right now, were out of it on %.

so, yeah. thats factual.

blokes are entitled to take a dogmatic, negative angle.

The fact of the matter is were going pretty good in 2017, and way beyond just about everyones expectations

the really strange thing is, after a win, everybody goes 'Yay, were pretty good' and after a loss, its 'boo, we are *smile*'

it reminds me of monday morning footy banter when i was in grade 1.
