Welcome Tom Brown

You know what get ball in his hands. Should be the option to receive coming out of the backline instead of Mr Shortcomings. Poorly coached and developed.

Seems to be taking less risks with his kicking. Earlier in the year he backed himself in and produced some kicking porn, often opening up rhe ground for a forward attack. Seems to have gone into his shell a bit and now looking for the dinky kicks.

Needs to be more aggressive generally but his team mates need to be moving & find space to encourage attempts at the more risk, reward plays.

More balls. Hard balls. Elitely kicked balls. Kick in (the) balls.

ut pila calcitrare pila magis placet
FMD, RE. It hurts to think.

As it pleases more greatly to kick (active?) Pila? Hairs? Thinking... Dunno. Checking... Pila. Oh, a pier such as might be made of brick. More greatly. To kick harder...

Hang on- just found pila = washbasins. Plural anyway. No good. FMD. Too hard. I give up, RE. What is it?

Hang on. I'm thinking "bulla" = ball. Just found "pila". Pila = mortars. That is the ball shaped cavity of a mortar, thence ball.

Even if it pleases to kick the balls harder. Oh, *smile*. Calcitrare. I think that's present indicative infinitive. Is it a subjunctive? No.

And hang on- the adverb is placed by the verb placet. So qualifies it.

Ok. The ut clause is just casual (no subjunctive) so it's As it more greatly pleases to kick the balls. Less literally - And so it is more gratifying that he kicks the ball.

That took me two days of thinking, RE.

Use AI 😝.

Unfortunately the backwards and forwards gets lost in translation a little and yours is better.

My year 10 Latin is rubbish.

I’m still 29 days in deficit.

Needs to HTFU. If he can add some steel to his obvious skill level he will be a player.

3 times in the 1st half, he had the opportunity to go up to spoil as the 3rd man, but sat down and watched Hogan out mark Miller twice and then watched Greene out mark Broad.
He dosent like contact.
Did he go home after half time
6 possessions after half time.

I feel that it's indecision and confidence, not that he doesn't like the contact. He's just not sure when to commit to a contest. The third man up ones weren't necessarily going to result in being hit, more intercept marking opportunities.

Put him in the wing rotations and make him work and learn to deal with 1 on 1 contests wide of close support.

Yep. He happily stands under high balls coming in- today he backed back into a leading forward- tho he got outmarked. He isnt afrad to put his body on the line. But sometimes he still plays like the kid who was better and probably stronger than all his opponents. at times he tries to avoid contact so he can use the ball.
He will find a better balance as he matures. He might end up further up the ground, but I would prefer he stays down back for the rest of the year. There are others who could be shuffled to make room for Trezise and Smith.

Think some of the media a few weeks back talking him and his kicking up has gotten to his head. Although his body has filled out he is still playing like a first year player wary of hard body contact. Has the AFL skill set so hoping contested work comes with more experience.

Brown is a Short clone. Non contact distributor.
I was hoping for more. Those making excuses for him obviously are too but unsure if he can reinvent himself into the player everyone wants him to be. One thing for sure.
He’ll never be a Nick Vlastuin

I’m heartened by seeing Hugo gain confidence and some physicality. I think we’ll see the same with this bloke.
