Welcome Tom Brown

Still referring to him as the the 193cm defender in the articles. :ROFLMAO:
A club article too. I know TBR said clubs don't have a standard way of measuring folks (I'd have only thought there was 2 ways - in shoes or in bare feet), but can't imagine shoes would add more than a couple of cm. He was listed as 186cm as a junior. (https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/tom-brown/ ) 7cm is a lot of growing.

Tbf he looks a fair bit taller than Trezise in the article shot, and he’s listed as 188cm

He seems to be quite a bit taller than 186 from what I've seen.
We'll see when stands next to Broady who's 192cm tall.

The positives about Tom Brown is that he looks like he has grown, at least above 190cm, and he is an elite athlete, 2.98 20 m speed, and a top 10 jumper in the draft camp.he is also an excellent kick

the knock on Brown is that we are yet to see him relish a contest, doesnt mean he is soft, but not a flossy contested beast that is for sure

Best case scenario for Brown is Andrew Mckay, good mover, classy with the ball, can jump.

Good luck to the kid

Pace, skills, height, good judgment in the air.

Hopefully will help us break lines in the future.

Pump games into him.

Great to see him get a game

We must also not judge him negatively if he doesn’t impress

I remember Broad after a few games & thought why the hell did we recruit this bloke

Turned out aright I reckon

Just watched the calling parents video, and Browny's another one who calls his parents by their first name. Funny.

Good luck to him! Interesting he calls his mum and dad by their first names in the phone call? Anyway what a huge achievement and gives a reason to watch the game on Sunday!

My ex-brother in law did that too. Funny watching him call his dad by first name as if he was just a mate.

I agree to an extent. He is very much playing the same role as Vlastuin in the VFL. If we want a proper comparison think Tom Stewart.
Oooohhh. Tom Spewart, an All Australian version of Flossy. Hope young Brown is a bit more Flossy like than Spewart like, but I've heard it said the Spewart is a great bloke.

Agreed. Almost choked on my tea when I saw the comparison.
Vlastuin crashes packs and is one of the best contested overhead marks for his height in the league.
Brown has a very limited aerial game from what we’ve seen so far.
People get so carried away with neat footskills but you’ve got to get the damn ball first. I’d pick Tresize first if I was building my backline
Yep. Tresize might look a bit twitchy n scruffy in game, but his decision making and ball use are fairly tidy, marking is generally good and he contests fairly damn hard.

Yes he can intercept mark but christ he needs to start by not letting his opponent kick goals each week
Well that comment can be applied to our entire team this year, starting from our forwards lack of defensive pressure and reaming right through our mid fields lack of the same. Bit hard for defenders to stand up n defend against an avalanche week after week.

Go well Lad. Bring your one wood. Run, carry and something we desperately need foot skills.
