Welcome Tom Brown

If he develops as expected he takes Grimes position in 2025
Not in a million years does Brown fill Grimes shoes. Brown doesn’t have the physical presence Grimes does, nor is he good one on one, doesn’t attack the ball in the air like Grimes nor have his bravery.

Big call for a 19 year old kid thats played less than 20 VFL games and no AFL games coming off an extended injury

Wouldn’t be a bad trade to get back into the first round? Our backline is bulging with recruits.
Interesting proposal, already talk we are chasing GCS pick 7. We could conceivably offload Brown to Geelong for a second and third round pick. Package that up with what we already have to GCS for pick 7. GCS get the points they need for their academy kids, we get access to a badly needed top 10 pick and Geelong can get *smile*.

So trade a first round pick with 2 seasons of development, for a player with none? A player that is showing both good skills and decision making...

No thanks. That's lunacy.

Grimes is one of the greats, truly unique game. Brown is totally different, he’s an attacking back, doesn‘t play the same role at all. The closest he could play would be Shorts role or hopefully Vlastuin if he improves his intercepting game.

Won’t happen
soldo , JG and possibly HRS will be our currency

Hope the 14 disposals didn’t include kick ins this week?

Tom Brown (14 disposals, five rebound-50s, four marks)

"He was okay without being outstanding, the bar has certainly raised for him over the last few weeks. His ball use was very good, but I think he's capable of taking it to another level."

Seems down on Previous weeks. Needs to up the level of output.
His bottom level should be higher than this.

Just needs a long, uninterrupted spell (i.e. no more *** injuries) and then we'll start to see the upside.

Don't like the talk of trading a young lad who we have invested in without seeing what he has got. He has had injury problems but since then seems. according to reports, come on pretty well and could be part of our future. I will be interested in seeing is he does make it as we have had much worse prospects seemingly making it
