Needs to learn to use his left foot. Needs to stop kicking banana kicks. Needs to stop twirling the ball in his hands as he steps up for a set shot.

Someone needs to coach this nonsense out of him.

BTW, if he doesn't get the Rising Star nomination this week, there are serious problems with the system. When was he last time a 5 game player kicked 23 goals in 18 games?

x2. 23 is great, but even factoring in a few missed sodas he should have 30. Leppa was adamant they have been working on it, either they need to change the way they're doing it, or nothing will help him.

At training they should put blinkers on him like a race horse and suspend a target high above the goals and have him shoot for the target 30 meters out 100 times a session.

Some of Chaos-tagna's footy is McGuane like. Absolutely no idea what he's doing. :hihi

He's hard at the footy and good at finding space but I hope his poor skill set doesn't cost us at a critical time..

Agree, hard at it, gives it 100% every time he's out there. No regard for his own safety.

Love watching him play.

There's nothing like the thrill of watching George butcher a set shot from 20 out, directly in front. :hihi But I hear what you are saying - he's a rubber ball of hyperactivity.

unpredictable, perhaps thats a good thing....with the exception of his goal kicking.

perhaps its just a matter of getting a couple of decent kickers either side of him for the handball..

i was going off my head at him Saturday, but now i feel guilty about it.

Hes just a kid thats giving 100% for RFC.

Yes he has problems shooting for goals or running into them, but lets just be patient as him and other small forwards are why we are in top 4

Keep it going George and i will be cheering the day u kick 6 goals in a game

Get the bloke who taught Lindsay Thomas how to kick for goal to tutor him. When Thomas first played he couldn't hit the side of a barn, iirc he kicked something like 19 behinds before he kicked his first goal.
George is nowhere near that bad. He just needs to practice a set routine & stick to it, he just seems to "stab" at the ball sometimes rather than kick through it.

Has a pretty big upside imo.

What do you people expect from a second round rookie pick? If he could kick he'd have gone a lot higher with his athletic profile and ball winning ability.

Speaking of rookies, how good is that 2014 rookie draft turning out? Short, Castagna, Lambert and Soldo! By seasons end all four of those players will/should be upgraded to the senior list.

Georgie is only 20. A baby in AFL terms. 10,000 kicks over summer to retrain his muscle memory will help.
