Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

He's a worry for mine.

He has no confidence when kicking for goal. So much so he's resorted to passing off when 30 metres out directly in front to players in worse spots than him. Did it last week too.

No way was Caddy in a worse position. If you're gonna bag him at least be accurate. Caddy was no more than 20 out on a 45 degree angle at worst. George was at least another 15m out on just less than 45. He wasn't directly in front.

I agree it was likely a confidence thing but Caddy was in a better position.

Disagree. He was straight in front. He's an afl footballer. Take the shot.

geez most of the players are shaky at set shots at the moment.

chimp, ellis, you just knew they were gonna miss.

talk about heart attacks, bloody hell :hihi

Should he have had a shot. Yep. Was Caddy in a worse position? No. He's also an AFL footballer, but generally only guaranteed from the goal square.

Caddy was in a tougher possie angle wise. No idea why you'd pass when you're 30 out directly in front.

Remains an enigma. Zigs when you think he should zag (Dusty was definitely thinking zag, George zigged).

If he's an enigma, dig up Alan Turing because we need to crack this guy before finals. Even on a good day, he's a liability.

Fair idea. Lack of confidence. Caddy could have called for it. Easy decision to make it someone else's responsibility. George is better when he has to have a snapshot, less time, less thought process involved.

This guy could end up something special if he got his kicking for goal sorted out.

He's quick, strong, leads well, is athletic and can take a grab. He turned the hawthorn player beautifully on the boundary line and then afterward proceeded to make a meal out of an easy shot for goal by kicking the ball with the inside of his foot instead of the outside, and thus actually kicking the ball away from goal instead of toward it!?

His kicking needs to be completely broken like Jason Bourne was and rebuilt from scratch. I reckon if we got see video footage of inside his brain the nanosecond prior to him kicking for goal it would be the equivalent of hitting a 3 wood inside a squash court.

Love the analogy :hihi

No, I don't think that's right. Not a liability. If gets his kicking sorted we win by MORE but he certainly does not cost us. He generates shots that in the last few years would have been rebound 50s to our opposition. That is his (and the rest of the mosquito fleet's) value.

I'm sure Caddy did call for it but no reason to honour the call. Yes you are right, must be confidence, but he needs to tackle his demons head on and take responsibility for those easy set shots.
