Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Yeah, when he misses those easy set shots you can really see he wants to punch himself in the head Pettifer-style.

I can't read his mind, antman. I just watch the football. In his football I see ferocity.

Sorry, I just went for the cheap laugh D'E. Cantstandya's doing alright - everything but set shots is golden.

He is what he is in front of goal, antman. I reckon he usually gets better as the game wears on. But 3.3 is about right for him on a good day. A miracle follows a bungle. It's who he is.

As I said in the game day thread, he did redeem himself in the end. But you'd prefer him kicking goals some of those early misses and that complete bungle trying set up his mate in the goal square. At that time those early misses killed us as we were completely dominant for about 15 minutes and could have kicked away in that second quarter. As it turned out they stayed in touch and it was a tough slog.

Yeah, that's why he (we) can get away with it V lesser opposition but I doubt you can get away with it v good teams in finals.

in a final if he is 25meters out, the pressure will be to much and he will officially miss the ball on his ball drop

Chance for a RS nomination?

3.3 from 16 disposals... Fantasia got a nom this time last year with 3.3 from 11 touches against us, rated higher than Shorty's 25 disposals @84%.

Has the third-highest goal tally in a season wearing #46, after Silvio Foschini (37) and that ex-Crows junk time reject guy at Carlton (26).

Crazy Castagna is a good lead up in the F50. Would like to know how many lead up marks he's had this year. Reckon he'd be close to Jack.

He is also good at finding holes in the opposition defensive zone. he takes a lot of marks right in the hotspot.

Its good for our forward structure because it confounds their defense and forces thejm to play more one on one.

He just needs a good kicking coach and will have a good career.

he is a mini Richo at the same point of his career , getting plenty of it , but close your eyes when he takes a shot

Needs to learn to use his left foot. Needs to stop kicking banana kicks. Needs to stop twirling the ball in his hands as he steps up for a set shot.

Someone needs to coach this nonsense out of him.

BTW, if he doesn't get the Rising Star nomination this week, there are serious problems with the system. When was he last time a 5 game player kicked 23 goals in 18 games?

Even if he could just improve the basic 30-40 metre set shot he'd become a much more valuable player.
