Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

I agree with calls to keep. Is fast and strong. More composure with ball in hand and he would be a decent player. Carcella should be the person to teach him this. Based on his own career.

Butler, Lambert and Moore must go before hand.

Assuming he's kept, Castagna's had 2 years already on the rookie list.
Would he get a third or does he get upgraded?
He's a 20 yr old project half back, it's decision time.. otherwise look elsewhere.

3 years for a flanker on the rookie list would be almost unprecedented since the days of Hyde & Howat.
Make. A. Decision.
Hyde wasn't a rookie and Howat was 23 in his last year. George is still a young fella.

He's lucky he's got a contract. Woeful draft choice. Saying that he did improve at VFL level as the season progressed. Maybe he has more in him. Speed of the game and his ability to make decisions to match a massive weakness. Batchelor better, but uncontracted and less athletic.

As for George, has the tools. Reminds me of a more talented Matthew White at that age. Just runs into trouble and/or doesn't slow down in the kick. Not as tough as Whitey, but I think his upside is higher. I'd keep him another 12 months to see if he can reach them.

Delist Lambert, Moore and Butler instead.
Yes, despite being a relatively good draft year, picking up Rioli & Markov (& Chol in the rookie draft). Got to say, I'm still scratching my head over the selection of Broad. Using a ND pick on him seemed really weird. Late rookie draft punt at best.

It's really confusing isn't it, the Rioli and Markov appear to be very astute selections however the Broad selection that just totally erodes the confidence...........

me too, especially now we've seen him play.

Where is the love for George??

3 goals is not a bad return. Was busy in the forward line.

Some serious pace between him, Rioli and Butler.

I like him, did really well tonight

He was good but he lacks a bit of Polish. Few fumbles, disposal a bit iffy. Gets himself into the right spots though so if he can tidy up his work he will be ok

Love George! He's my boy.

Do you really want to hurt him, PRE?

Wouldn't you reckon on last night's performance that George would be first in line for rookie elevation?
