Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Could have been the hero with 5 goals.

Disappointing finishes but got in the right spots to get the ball up forward.

I was under the impression, this game aside ,

His goal kicking had improved out of sight this season compared to last ?

Has kicked more behinds than goals this season. He much prefers to be kicking at goal while on the run.

Which one's the tall? I'm confused.
Georgie's the tall, he gets to n creates a heap of air contests. Geezer's the short he does the low hovering blowfly collecting the nuggets Georgie spills n polishing them off.

Did you watch the game? He was on his own 40 out directly in front, by himself with 3 hours to gathered the ball and kick a goal. He stuffed it up like usual.
None that barracks for Richmond has any confidence when he is running in for goal, set shot or snap.
The dropped mark set the tone for his night, they should've subbed off

Yes i did watch the game Zips, i didn't say he was any better on the run, i just said that's what he prefers.

He prefers on instinct and/or when not expected to kick it or game already decided. Needs to sort out his headspace pronto. This directly in front one a classic of when it matters and plenty of time to think about it = clusterf@$$

his set shot technique has improved, his set shots misses are not as horrific as they where 12 months back. He has a good snap shot, he simply had a terrible night and does not need reminding of it. He has got in position (and yes I know he also fluffed up that chest mark) where he could impact the score board.

Jacks should have kicked one of his 2 points
Moore tried a 30m right foot banana from in front and misses, no left foot, no composure to steady and kick with his right.
Cotchin burst though the middle and missed a "simple" shot directly in front 40m out.
Bolton missed everything.
Ellis- Presita and Edwards missed shots that you would expect would go through.

We lost by 2 points. We move on to Friday night against an in form saints who PANTS us there last year... was close to 100 v 10 at one stage in that game ..ouch!!

He frustrates me, but he plays a great role. I've always known he'd have a game like the one he had on the weekend. I've already forgiven him.

His set shot routine, however, is shocking IMO. Spins the ball in his hands 1000 times, runs in with his body turned sideways, then darts slightly to the right, and tries to hook it back slightly left.

His routine should have his body as straight as it possibly can be to eliminate as much room for error as possible. His current routine has far too many flaws that can lead to too many errors. I have no confidence in him 25m out directly in front.

Has kicked 19.20 so he’s going at 48% (but would be going even lower with OOTF included). His last 3 games have netted zero goals and seven behinds.

All forwards go through this at some point. The great Richo was a shocker at times. George is, to paraphrase the great Jack Dyer, "getting where the ball is". The goals will come. Dimma handled it perfectly. Support the kid, don't put more pressure on him.

George doesn't need kicking practice. He needs to see a hypnotherapist.

Agree. Dimma handled it perfectly. Probably seething inside!

Career 47.40 - 54% (44 Games)

Compared to other tiger forwards:

Butler - 48.25 - 66% (38 Games)
Riloi - 45.22 - 67% (47 Games)
Caddy - 129.90 - 59% (has kicked 32.9 this year!)
Townsend - 26.9 from 13 games as a permanent forward - 74%

Some of the other small forwards -
Betts - 554.286 - 66%,
Elliott - 138.68 - 67%
Greene - 132.89 - just under 60% - for a guy who is supposedly a brilliant kick this is pretty average
Cameron - 104.81 - 56%
Wright (Carl) - 129.61 - 68%
Walters - 216.117 - 65%
Ballantyne - 246.166 - just under 60%
Puopolo - 162.73 - 69%
Bruest - 340.165 - 67%
Gray - 283.185 - 60%

Greene and Gray would both be considered elite kicks for goal yet statistically are just average.

You'd reckon blindfolded, and after downing a 6 pack you could have a better strike rate than that. :hihi

Downing a 6pk blindfolded and starting his run up within the allowed 30 secs would be a challenge i reckon.
