Welcome to Tigerland - Callum Moore

Yeah i get your drift zips, you're thinking Elton is better.

No. Elton is a disgrace. We have the worse group of talls I've ever seen. Griffens Hampson solodo and Elton
They would struggle in suburban footy
This all goes down to list mangerment. Who extended Hampson contract? Why don't we trade out?
Why wasn't rockiff an option?
Looking back at it now even Stanley from Geelong would've been a better pick up then caddy.

Just watched his highlights from the weekend (and i freely admit it's the first video or footage I have ever watched of him) but he looked like he had great hands to me. For those who have watched him more than me is he worth a go at CHF?

Every VFL game I have seen Moore has stood out to me. More so than Elton. Definitely more than Chol. I would play him for a run of games without hesitation.

Can't promote him after 6(?) weeks out and 1 good game. Needs to back it up.

Trouble with Cal is where to play him. You don't want him anywhere near goals. So that leaves either defence or a very high CHF ( which looking at that 2 minute highlight reel seemed to be where he was playing)

Agreed, and consistency has been an issue for him.

I like him on the wing. He provides a target for the long kick out of defence, some genuine dash through the middle and then can hopefully deliver I50. He could also sneak forward and mark a few.

His fitness probably isn't good enough for that yet though.

Opinion business but don't agree, forward is exactly where you want him leading up tacking marks, hitting packs & bringing ball to ground. Yes kicking a worry but if you are worried about kicking I hope you are not on the get Casboult train.

No I'm not but I'd bet LC is a more accurate kick than CM.

He can run and jump well that is just great.
But last time I went to the dotty you have to be able to kick it.
So you have been to his last 2 VFL games and seen NO improvement? If so fair enough if you think he is a waste of space, it's an opinion based business. I agree kicking has been his issue and why he was rookied and not drafted proper but, albeit a small sample, his ball drop and disposal seems to be improving. Some on here want to give Casboult 3 years and $600k a year just to provide a presence for god's sake, he has made a career out of being an ordinary kick. Missed one from 10 meters out again on weekend. I would rather give Moore a chance and would cost us nothing.
Over to you Moorey, don't embarrass me in the curtain raiser at PRO this Sunday after all the support I have given you ;)

He dobbed a beautiful goal from the 50 so hopefully that's where his kicking is at now. (His worst still seems good enough for George.)

Has definitely improved from what I saw 12 months ago. Disposal much more mechanically sound. Clearly done a lot of work on it.
His marking too looks very confident. Heck of a leap.
I'm really excited by Cal now. Looks like a mobile CHF in waiting...

Could he turn into a Jarrad Waite type?

I've been a huge Casboult advocate from very early on because of the deficiencies we currently have with our key position stocks. Nothing has changed because I don't think that tall needs to kick bags of goals to provide his worth. You have though given me renewed hope that we have someone in the wings worth developing. He's not ready yet. We all know that, but just maybe we have someone that's being developed properly and may just come along. Casboult for the next 2 years and Moore after that.
Lets support him and give him time without the usual high demands and unrealistic expectation.

That's all I'm offering, hope, nothing more nothing less, has a rookie's chance of making it.

Therein lies the problem. Hope. Richmond hoped Griffiths, Elton and Hampspud would solve our immediate needs. They were Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrong.
Casboult is proven at AFL level and we know what he can deliver. We can't go into next season on hope alone

From the VFL Report:

Callum Moore
23 disposals, five marks, seven inside-50s, eight score assists, two goals two behinds.
Played his best game for the year. Played as a key forward working up the ground, but also working hard inside 50. Everybody that was at the game would have seen his strengths, particularly his running with the ball and his speed.

Has been building nicely over the past few weeks.
If he keeps improving, can he possibly be our 2nd tall forward for next year?
