McBean is in his 4th year and we should expect more from him. That's the major difference.Leysy Days said:Miles behind someone like Beanie at both levels who seems to cop a lot.
Yep. I don't think Moore will make it but there's a fair bit of harsh criticism for a rookie first gamer.Sintiger said:McBean is in his 4th year and we should expect more from him. That's the major difference.
I actually thought he was auditioning for a role in Peaky Blinders. Can probably only get better on that showing. It's only one game, but like Broad, clearly doesn't look up to the level.ThePercies said:If your joining the army. Not a bad option for him though..
It's ok to let them have a game or two to adjust to the pace. Right?CarnTheTiges said:I actually thought he was auditioning for a role in Peaky Blinders. Can probably only get better on that showing. It's only one game, but like Broad, clearly doesn't look up to the level.

tigersnake said:Cool, thanks Dyer'ere. I like our list ecology. After years of having the occasional rare kooky experimental project that flops, we've got a few on the go at once that show a bit of promise.
Your description of him early in your post was how I used to describe Ben Griffiths in his early days. Ben can certainly play but it hasn't made him an afl footballer.Dyer'ere said:It's time for a bit of a Callum Moore update.
For most of last year I wasn't sure where we should play him. I don't think the club was either. He is an outstanding athlete and specimen. Very quick and can jump over anybody.
He lacks confidence and that includes confidence in his body. That will come as he tests it and succeeds.
Ignore any myths that are floating around. Seymour is often a good field kick and his handball is surprisingly intuitive. (See Shai's most recent tape for examples.) His goal kicking last year was occasionally hilarious. I don't know how that's progressed this year but he nailed his shot on the weekend and quite naturally.
I haven't written up Seymour so far this year because I haven't seen any VFL until last week and his preseason games were just like his games of last year. An athlete with a body - not a footballer. Can't get it. Doesn't know where to go. And sometimes doesn't seem to want to. Not a natural and immature.
But. I saw him for a half last week in the VFL. He's changed. Looks a bit heavier and a bit less mobile. He's furnished into a key forward size. And he looks like a footballer at times. Not often enough but almost.
When we talk about pack splitting this bloke can. He's just not there yet. But he's improving. He's getting the hang of it.
He's levelled up from an 18yo athlete to a VFL class forward. Thats' a huge step. He's a candidate. This is Fly's write up from last week -
Callum Moore
12 disposals, five marks, one clearance, one goal.
Played as a key forward. Showed plenty of hard running, and proved to have real scope as an AFL forward. Kicked a critical goal late in the game.
That's a big call from Craig McRae. (Doesn't say much.) Those of you who follow McRae's reports will know how important the running is.
We might be hearing a bit more about Callum Moore in the coming weeks.
