Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

Only way Butler plays is if someone gets injured.
Yep - blokes like Butler, BEllis and Lloyd are next in line - just depending on the actual match up that might be required in the event of an injury.

A while back, probably the only argument was over instead of Higgins. But Higgo can have a run through the midfield, which is not Butler's go, and be almost as handy up forward too. Furthermore, he's proved he has a decent tank, can handle the pressure, step up, be durable and do the amazing at times.

Unfortunately, can't see who Butts can push out. But injury could change all that.

Agreed. Higgins has more strings.

Only injuries can save Butler now.

Yeah, I would look at butts for Conca.

Tough one from a team morale perspective.

The ‘fabric’ could take a hit.

Conca going nowhere. It’s only ever going to be Higgins. On last game, not sure you can chop him. Butler has the pace and skills over Higgi but the fact Higgins can run through the middle and his tank sees him getting the nod.

If Butler was fully fit I’d say Castagna would have been nervous.

All these suggestions (about who might make way for Butler) are valid debating points but the fundamental issue is whether Butler is absolutely capable of playing a full game at max intensity. If there's doubt then it can't be considered

Pace yes, skills no.
At this point in time I would take Dans kicking skills over Higgins every day of the week. While Higgins is a very smart footballer his disposal is still a little iffy. No doubt will improve.

Should the outcome of Conca's FA contract decision be a factor in selection if known? Has Butler signed on yet?

How many goals has Higgo given off? How many goals has Butler given up?

if Dusty's not 100% and spends most of the game fwd which appears likely then Conca will be needed in the middle to shore up rotations - that makes Butlers inclusion less likely - unless they swap Butler for George.....
