Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

He's got some handy tools. Just needs to clean up a few aspects of his game and he'll develop into a more than handy footballer. Tracking nicely.

Love this kid. Fumbles now and again. Them makes up for it with his line breaking.
He is a game breaker. Also a very reliable kick too.

I'm backing in Morris to finally prove that he's quick

So we're in the GF and you've got Moro in the side? That's what I call optimism.

Moves beautifully Butler. Has some serious pace and skill.
That long running goal had it all on display. Speed, strength, balance, poise.
A very fine footballer......

i reckon he had Morris out of the side, running the GF sprint. All our A team speedsters playing the GF proper.

Yeah I'm a big fan too. Only criticism, and its a minor one considering how many games he's played., is he does the difficult things pretty consistently well, but is inconsistent on the easy things. Tends to bobble an easy mark in range a week for example, get rid of that, and he is a star in the making.

Yep; mis-read it, sorry. Reckon the forgotten man, Drummond, when fully fit, would be much quicker than Moro. Some pre-season reports had him as the fastest at RFC BTW, but Butler looks damn quick.

Yeah, easy marks and his bounces never serm to come back to him properly.

Spud Frawley on SEN yesterday said that the long standing coach at St. Pat's in Ballarat reckons that Butler is the quickest kid he has ever coached at the school.

The one great thing about Butler is even if he isn't getting the ball much he's doing the unrewarded things. Is almost always at the top of the pressure acts of the forward players.

Grigga was asked on Talking Tigers today if Butler was quickest at club and he hesitated and said Grimes and George would be up there.
So sounds like he has :

Butler, George and Grimes heading the table.

That leaves, Rioli/Shai/Oleg/Menadue to fight it out for next in line. (Note: Oleg & Connor had better 20 meter sprint times at combine 2.87 & 2.88).

IF, and it is a big if, all these players make the grade surely we would have close to the quickest team in the comp

**It does not seem that long ago that we were lamenting how slow we were.

Not only that, made the first 18 while in year 10, very rare to do that at St Pat's, Daniel Rioli didn't do that.

Why isn't he being talked about as the Rising Star?

Done as much as anyone else.

Geez that's good to hear about Grimes (bit of a surprise) especially considering all of his hamstring problems over the years.
He's clearly quick but didn't realise he was THAT quick!
