Jayden Short - 2.98
Butler didnt test at the combine due to injury.

Anything under 3 is really good. Short is deceptively quick. The difference between Bolton and Short is nothing but they look they are moving at a much different pace on the paddock.

Reckon Butler would be sub 3 as well.

Butler needs to hold basic marks and improve his hands in congestion as he fumbles too much at the moment. Think because he has dropped some absolute sitters that his mind is going as fast as his legs as in 'spending it before he's got it'. Hope this comes with maturity and practice as he has all the tools

Good article Willo.

Thanks.

I like the kid.

Continues on the up I can see him in the future being more than a small forward.

A player who rotates in the midfield.
I think that is Butlers next move- to the midfield. He is already getting his own ball and uses it well. I like how clean he is with it. At just on 5ft and 80kg he is almost ready body-wise.
A key thing to remember too is that he hasn't played a full year since we drafted him. An injury free year and another preseason and watch out!

This ^..Good future but really needs to be a one grab and away player, does fumble a bit to much and tends to drop when tackled.
Will get better I'm sure and will then go to the next level.

The way he moves is like a smaller younger version of Deledio.
Reckon he moves more like Brent Harvey myself, just needs to triple his possessions rate to be as good ;D

Yeah a bit of Harvey in there too caesar.
The bit about soccer is interesting.
He's shown some very good footskills at ground level without actually picking the ball up and that gives that talent some context now.

that hesitation and getting caught when he could have had a ping, and would have a month ago, was terrible.

Poor game by anyone's standards.
70% game time. 4 disposals at 25% 3 tackles, kicked a point.
Trajectory heading down for Butler. Disappointing.

Was he the one who dropped a sitter at CHF or was it Lambert?

Players never go well after some mid week positive press

Reckon he's still injured. Only played 70% game time when we really need some pace.

No doubt in my mind. No zip. Groin?

It was him. Runs and carrys really well, but very fumbly and I have lost count how many marks have been dropped.
Worth persisting with. He is 100 times better then short

Another who melted in the heat of battle. Massive brain fade in the last when had the ball in a little bit of space and got nailed. Has to find a way to contribute something when he's having a stinker.
