Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

With the speed he has, if he were a one-grab player he'd be lethal.

But he's not clean with the ball. Not by a long shot.

Hopefully it's just a confidence thing, and he irons out the fumbles. Cos that's where most of the pressure is coming from, I reckon. He's in a weird sort of equilibrium where his pace is barely balancing out the time he loses trying to pick the ball up.

Fix this, and we have a player.

I like the fact that both Dan and Castagna will force Stengle and Shai Bolton to get uber fit and play with enormous pressure before they will get games despite having lots more natural talent.

Everyone talks about his pace but he's also very fit. In that running goal which he soccered along a couple of times he ran about 70+ metres through the goals and around the post and was hardly puffing. Some of them run 20 metres and they look stuffed. Glad we kept him on the list and looking forward to seeing his ball skills improve as he gets more comfortable and more confident at this level.

Good pick up Craig. I also hope it's confidence but he does fumble a hell of a lot. Almost BEllis and Houli level.

Clean hands will be the difference between ho hum and purrr hummm!

He's fumbling in a PRACTICE GAME. It gets harder, apparently. Good pace, but overall...long shot.

Very much agree - this is what you want. Any good side has enormous competition within the club for spots in their first side.

It'd be great to have someone break the lines again...again? I cant recall the last one we had who did!

A lot of players on both sides were fumbling TTT. Windy conditions were extremely difficult. Dan is firming for round 1.

No wind at Etihad. I have been keeping an eye on his for two years. I like him but he needs to fix those concentration or skill errors. Seems to take his eyes off the ball a bit. Maybe an honesty session is in order.

How often would DB have played at Etihad?

I like the idea of rioli castagna and butler in the same team. Alot of zip and urgency

Been a bit of a revelation in the pre-season games. Geez he's quick. And that Maradonna ball dribble and goal was sensational.

Butler & Castagna must be played Rnd 1 along with Edwards & Rioli

Carlton rely so heavily on Docherty & Simpson off their h/b line that all their drive is generated by these 2 blokes and we cant give them any space to work

I want a 100 point smacking

I agree. Butler, Castagna, Rioli, Riewoldt and Griff (or other tall option) as the 5 main forwards with Dusty, Cotch, Lloyd, Caddy, Edwards rotating through as the rotating 6th forward gives good balance between attacking flair and pressure inside 50.
