Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

Well its now looking like all of Soldo + F1 + #31 will be traded to GWS for
Hopper + #66

GWS will now be looking for points this year for their Academy kid and will most likely be using #31 to trade back to get 2 picks between 40-50
I think that's well overs, GWS taking the proverbial with a 2023 FA coming back from injury. If this 5 man bench rule comes into play the value of rucks will soar, we now have to source some reinforcements, that cost will have to also be factored in.

our main problem was stoppages and centre clearances, having two rucks won't guarantee success. but quality mid fielders will, getting the engine right is our top proirity

Not great, but just get it done.

Once Hopper is killing it in a Richmond midfield no one will care if we had to give up a bit more than we hoped for. If we win a premiership with him and taranto we won't even remember him in anything but a Richmond jumper.

Maybe a F3 and 66?

That all depends on where you rate Soldo i suppose

Personally i have him well behind Nank and dont like our setup with both Nank/Soldo in the starting 22
2 Dinosaur Rucks is a liability and Soldo really doesnt have a 2nd position

2 Rucks is the way to go but the 2nd needs to have the ability to play multiple positions and needs more agility speed and marking

I think we will draft another Ruckman late and possibly a state league mature Ruckman as emergency backup on cheap coin
$400k for Soldo is too much

as i said last week, we stuffed up saying no to trading Hugo. this deal would have been done and dusted last week.
HBF we have plenty of, rucks we do not!!
soldo on the bench would have been gold it seems......hhhmm

That maybe true, 400k seems a fair bit, that's why getting Grundy for an extra 300k makes perfect sense, you upgrade that position without compromising other areas on the field. This is how I would have played it -

Taranto for pick 12, Soldo & future 3rd.

Pick 19 - Grundy

Pick 31 - Lemmey

Grab Mitchell for a junk pick, maybe future second, I think he's being undersold, still top 5 in B&F.

That also protects our future first next year & gives us a red hot chance at grabbing a second tall forward.

You can't trade a contracted player against their will - it's very clear that Ralphsmith has no intention of leaving Victoria.

Not sure how you can conclude that the club stuffed up.

soldo is contracted too! you think soldo wants to go to GWS?
stuffed up as in we have plenty of HBF and not plenty of rucks...... would have preferred to trade a position we have lots of cover for. now people are already talking about us needing to find another ruck backup, cause we let our contracted ruck back up leave.....

For what it's worth, there is talk that GWS's pick 66 could come in as low as pick 50, because clubs will be passing en masse on picks in the 50s and beyond.
