Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

A Geelong great man ;)

"Sheehan played 102 games for Geelong over nine seasons, but only managed 16 senior games in his final three seasons.

During this time, however, he won three consecutive reserve grade premierships, captaining the side in 1981.

That's where the great part comes in, there wouldn't be too many players from any game around the world who've won three Reserves flags consecutively, except Shifty Sheehan :mhihi
Only at the Sheep Shaggers would someone stay 3 years playing reserves football.
I've always thought he worked for Geelong deep down especially during the early 2000's & late 1990's.
Giving Geelong prime info what others were looking at and talking up duds to put off other clubs.
During that period Geelong were almost striking gold with every single pick.Screenshot_20221010-111807_Samsung Internet.jpgScreenshot_20221010-111828_Samsung Internet.jpg

As a young fella growing up in Geelong (hence why I hate the pr!cks as a Tiger supporter) I still remember seeing Shifter play, along with Jumping Jack Hawkins, the Nankervis brothers, Neville Bruns, Scratcher Neil etc back in the day, (they loved a ranga at Geelong). As kids everyone went to Kardinia park if you followed footy no matter who you supported.

Sounds like the Tigers have accepted Soldo to be part of the deal if we want to get it done, and the big Doldo is part of the package. Other people hearing that, Jon Ralph tweeting it out, but I'm not on Twitter aye, just a mate messaging me

if the Hopper deal involves pick 31, a future 1st round pick and Soldo, what picks should we be wanting to get back from GWS?
With GWS currently swapping draft picks, they better have something better than junk picks.

Can’t find the quote but something along the lines of McCartney acknowledging Richmond’s pragmatism on the Tarranto trade - I read that as maybe unders for hopper but on balance a fair outcome. If soldo also thrown in I think we have paid overs for both.

What swaps are they doing? I haven't seen anything on that

Hun reporting we’ve “relented” in letting Soldo go to GWS as part of the Hopper deal.

Ralph saying we don’t want to include Soldo because the sub rules might change next year but we will most likely relent.

In other words we will trade Soldo, pick 32 and F1 for Hopper plus maybe something in return this year.

For Christ’s sake, GWS already have picks 3, 12, 15, 18 and 19 plus 44, 61 and 63 - why the hell are they insisting on our pick 31.

We should stick fat with Soldo and a F1 only.

Mcarthy is Dodoro in orange.

And the AFL have stuffed the rules again - hinting at changes to the sub bench, how can they cont to operate like this because this is what is worrying the tigers, having Nank or Soldo as the 5 person on the bench becomes a strength for us.

From the begging it was 31 and Soldo or Soldo and a first now that there pick 44 is gone to what's coming our way.

Well its now looking like all of Soldo + F1 + #31 will be traded to GWS for
Hopper + #66

GWS will now be looking for points this year for their Academy kid and will most likely be using #31 to trade back to get 2 picks between 40-50
