Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

Caesar, you've probably seen more of Brown than most of us. What are your thoughts on him? How does he project from his 1st year? Potential superstar? Good player? Dud?

I'd say good player but want to see Brown have a big pre-season and lift in intensity and production come game time, i thought STAR watching pre-season last year but were slightly disappointed thereafter.
Had a few injuries so let's see him with his body right.

GWS have done well out of the Taranto deal.
What is a reasonable deal for both clubs in regards to Hopper? Deledio, a better credentialed player had a year to go on his contract when he went to GWS on a 3 year deal, for a 1st round pick and a future 3rd.
GWS have cap issues, they may not be in a position, or may not want to pay any of Hoppers contract like we did for Deledio. With that in mind, and reminding them that we paid some of Lids contract, we should be able to negotiate a reasonable deal by saying we'll take the burden of Hoppers contract off you.
GWS should be happy with a future 1st round pick and nothing more. I don't really want to give it up, but we get to keep Soldo and still have our 2nd and 3rd round future picks.
All future picks are important but a future 1st is gold.

Shedda to Blair, ‘What do you expect me to do next year if you trade our first’?

Agree, but Soldo may be just as important next year too. Reluctantly give up a future 1st, because if Nank gets injured and with Ryan still developing, and if Soldo has gone we're snookered.

So if you had a choice, would you trade Brown or our future 1st? You can't choose neither btw haha

Should've done the Hopper trade first, then if they didn't like the taranto offer we would at least have leverage as he was uncontracted.

GWS talking tough, what salary dump?
Why would they help us get stronger, the most successful team in recent times and the team that embarrassed them in the 2019 GF. No favours for Richmond here.

They might keep Hopper in 2023 and think the new coach can convince him to sign on again.

Miller has eased the angst over losing Soldo

This. Nank was playing on one leg this year. The way he plays he could easily be out for a long stretch. Have to keep Soldo.

If that happens we should target Tarryn Thomas spread out his current contract for 4 instead of 2 years

Nah Ripples, Richmond acts early to sew up the deal, gives fair compensation, and avoids the pressure and chaos that ensues near the end of trade week.

Do the easy deal first, then do the harder one.

We'll get Hopper, its just about the details now.

There's a reason why we get what we want, despite the angst on here about letting players go too cheaply, eg Butler, Higgins etc.

We get what we want.

The parties seem a way off re: what GWS want Vs what we can/will give.

It will get done though. It's in both parties interest for it to.

Future 1st for sure will go. With a little bit on top from us (player or pick)

Miller is ok around the ground but I don’t like it when he’s taking centre bounces.

Plus I’d like to see him settle in the backline and be the replacement for Taz when he retires

Thought Miller was decent at center bounces

Hmmm. Maybe. I hear he got told a few home truths by the club at seasons end. Let’s see how he responds.
There has been talk about loyalty issues but when he is focused he looks to have great skills across the board.
I wouldn’t want to see him offered elsewhere either this year or next.
