Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

Too slow. All his possessions are under pressure. went at 33% efficiency. So disappointing.
No confidence in his body.
Wins possession and than walks.
Too scared to drive himself just in case he pulls another hammy.
He wasn't like that at GWS.
He looks like Caddy in his last year,

Hopper is hovering around the B - Level and that's about it folks. Very poor list management decision!

He didn't have soft tissue issues at GWS.
He had knee issues all 2022.
He missed most of the preseason 2022-2023 due him recovering from the knee.
I would give him a break and then get him back in late November for the hardest running preseason ever.
Wines showed on Friday night you can be a tortoise and still be good as long as you are surrounded by turbo, Horne-Francis, Butters and Rozeee

Bit of a broken record on this guy. But poor again.

- Zero score launches
- 3 contested possessions
- Zero centre clearances (from 18 attended)
- Zero clearances at all
- Kicking efficiency 54%
- 6 effective kicks
- 3 ground ball gets

Simply ineffective. Goes to ground, can't transition at all. In fact, reckon he's a key reason that the opposition move the ball so well against us week after week. He looks just about cooked.

Between Taranto, a slowing Meatball and Hopper - We are just so pedestrian in the middle. Both and without ball.

How do we play it going forward is the big question. Meatball is likely to retire. But Hopper and Taranto together simply doesn't work. It didn't for the Giants and doesn't for us.

Hopper is too slow to play anywhere else. Do we try and turn Taranto into a forward?

Or would someone take Hopper off our hands for a token late pick? Unlikely, given we signed him until 2029.

Big quandary for Yze and Blair.

Hardwick’s misguided, egotistical choices really is the gift that keeps on giving down at Tigerland while his grilling new sausages up north.

Somebody at the club should have put a leash on him post 2020 instead of giving him carte-blanch!!!

Nah. This is on Blair. Not Dimma. As hard as it would have been, it was Blair's job was to put him on that leash. He didn't.

Blair is GM of Football Talent and is in charge of the list and all contracts and trades. He takes the glory when we trade well and the wrath when we don't.

Once (and if) Hopper can get his body right we will see that he is a very good player. Difficult for him at the moment with continuity. Has no trouble getting his hands on the ball. Inclined to think he would look a lot better with fast, skillful outside mids in the mix.

Blair is a nuts and bolts man. Hardwick was senior coach with premiership wins.

Hardwick sort and got big bodied midfielders who play without much finesse and who move the ball forward at all costs, or should be. Sound familiar?

GWS were reluctant to let go of Tarranto….. But can tell you when both Richmond and Geelong came after Hopper, GWS were very surprised with the offers both clubs put in…. Thats from someone inside of GWS…. We were sold a lemon whose holding back Jack Ross’ development

It’s usually a combination of coach & list manager the players they bring in. That said 7 years is ridiculous.

Did this guy have what one or two good years of footy (at GWS) and that’s it? Seems that way. I was all for getting him but seems like a flop as far as on field performance goes.

He has missed so much football.
I reckon he just wants to play 7 in a row - being to the end of this season, to launch into next year. His confidence is understandably shot. Football is a game of continuity and match fitness and confidence - he has had none of that.
I still think he can play - if he plays 16-22 games next year and is crap then ok he can't play. But for now yeah he has just been a croc - 2 different things
I reckon if he plays out the year he will have a great game in rd.23 or 24
