Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

I’m thinking more of the lousy picks taken in the last 5 years that have not come along at all (despite all the discussions on this site) that are having a much more negative impact as to where the side is at the moment.

If the club continues to select small bodied, poorly skilled players that develop in slow increments over too many years I’ll pull out what hair I have left!
Share the frustration, but looking at 2020, 2022 and (probably too early to tell) 2023 drafts, there's not heaps there at the relevant picks, especially considering its impossible to nail every pick. 2021 looks better to me, and we targeted that one with lots of selections. Fingers crossed 2024 is strong and less covid impacted given we have also targeted it.

We're very reliant on this stock. He's had some periods over his career where's been unable to get on the park and it's business as usual at RFC, or even worse.

Had a good run from 1018-21 playing 21, 23, 17, 23. He had the hole in the heart thing before then.

History says we should be able to get him right. This is a case that might be reasonably put on Meehan. Time will tell.

He'll be back on the park in a couple of weeks. We need him.

Hooper is one of those unflashy players who does so much under the radar so doesn't get the kudos he deserves. This was highlighted when he came back from his previous injury a few weeks back and made so much difference to our mids performance until he got his latest injury and then the mids fell apart. If only we could make him less injury prone then the Hooper / Taranto duo would make all the difference to our game that Dimma and the recruiters had hoped for. I look forward to see him back after the bye and hopefully for more than half a game

Totally agree. His work rate around the centre and ground was huge against melbourne that night.

I noticed in Yze's press conference that Hopper declared himself fit for the Dusty game.

The club said no, you can.wait a couple more.

Please take note that the club have not rushed this fella back.

That's kinda horrible to say.

If it happens though, we'll have some evidence the club slowed him down and was cautious.

Hole in the heart? I blame Meehan

Then we should plan to sub him off at 10 minute mark of the last quarter....and give McAuliffe some game time
But, but. What if Hoppity popped the hammy first ten minutes of the first qtr, then McAuliffe could get nearly a whole game of seniors instead of maybe just the last ten minutes.

Need them both, can't see any reason why we would not play McAuliffe and Hopper in the same side.
Bit unkind comparing them actually Kane for a big inside mid has good pace.
