Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

I agree. Even the old Hawthorn teams used to make a lot of players cut their teeth in the 2’s for a long time.
And then like out of nowhere some guy gets a game and plays great footy.

I sense this philosophy based on Dimma talkng about reserves guys who can just step up and play a role.

So presumably just one-year deals for him and Cal Moore? Sounds about right. Both need a good year to consolidate a list place. Wonder where we are at with Drummond?

my issue with this is the font written across the image on the club app.

It looks like it says...

YOUNG TIGER DUD SIGN NEW DEALS

Hopefully have moved away from THOSE days!

Luckiest player on the list IMO.

Can't believe he is still getting another chance. Cut your losses and just delist him.
Hasn't shown any improvement in 3 years. What are they waiting for?

Benefits from the circumstance of Miles,Ellis, Lloyd and Conca going.

But he's sitting in the 2019 departure lounge unless he shows a fair bit.

And there has been very little improvement from the player that arrived.

The way we have been hitting gold with our late picks lately, I would rather have pick 88 then keep him.

From watching Menadue since he has been at the club I just don't see what the club sees in him. He is fast, hasn't a bad kick to doesn't like contact and has the habit of going missing for large parts of the game.

When paying for the firsts the only benefit I see in him is he keeps the interchange bench seat warm

Have more impact in games for us just watching it on TV

Always felt one of Menadue or Ellis would be kept. I'm not against him getting one more year but he has to step up all it's all over.

He has raw speed, tradeable! We just couldn't fit him into our ex-premiership midfield...

Has twelve months - axe is leaning against the chicken coop shed.

Has a player ever won 2 grand final sprints but with different clubs ?

Hopefully he comes good this year but definitely in the last chance saloon, he's on first name terms with the barkeep.

who will replace him in 2020?

currently ranked 25 (or thereabouts)
at the end of next season both Houli and Grigg will be gone. But we dont have an obvious midfield option if menadue doesnt make it

Don’t really know what his role is going forward.

Doesn’t get enough of it to play genuine mid. Not enough strength to go back. Not enough nouse or pressure to play forward.

Can he jump? Maybe ruck?

Speed must be the only thing keeping him there ,

And they are clinging to the hope , the rest improves ,

Hard to see what else they may be thinking

He finished 7th in the VFL B&F, ahead of Lloyd and Baker. Regular VFL watchers know why he was retained.
