Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

I think we have at least 4-5 youngsters who all have the tools to be very good players playing in the vfl this weekend. Ellis, menadue, garthwaite, Bolton, stengle. I also like Callum Moore and reckon he is developing nicely, as is Soldo

Depth in young players is looking quite strong imo.

Chol I am not sure about or Lennon.
There's definatly potential there, that lot will have a big say in how far we go in the next couple of seasons, I think there's one lock amongst them of been a good player and that's Garthwaite , Ellis an Menadue must take big steps forward this season as for the others they have a little more time, I do like Chol though, great upside if he wants it.

Just on Menadue, the type of footy McCrae is playing should suit him perfectly , it's time he starts having 20 plus touches an a goal at VFL and getting plenty of metres gained, big oppurtunity for an outside runner in our senior team, light frame is no excuse in the VFL, must start to improve

Edit.... More I see the less faith I have , seems to lack belief , needs to play like Georgie, bust ya balls an demand getting the footy.

Thought he was pretty good.

everyone else mustve reckoned too.

cause his thread had cobwebs on it.

Hard too know without been at the game, but it seemed on the TV he presented well but wasn't used as much as he probally should have been.

I saw some hard running, some good tackles, some deft assists,

and twice I saw something that not many other blokes could manage.

stays in.

I saw him dish the ball out of a pack to big Lobb for a goal. That hurt. He was pretty fumbly. 11 touches with 3 clangers in 79% game time as a running player.

He got on the end of a chain and goaled from the square for one of his goals but kicked a nice set shot goal from a dusty pass in the third.

I thought he started very well, playing his best senior football to date. Looked mature and engaged. Incisive use at times. He seemed to fade. We was dong some pretty heavy work at times and there's nothing of him.

Had two goal shots that were 25/1 by Richmond standards and calmly slotted both.

He's definitely better up forward at this stage and went some way to cementing a place. Usually looked like he belonged at AFL level. I was impressed by his emerging maturity.

Unfortunately like so many young Tiger players they start their careers with some good games but when they try to lock down a place in the team they seem to be so inconsistent. For some reason his pace is not seen any more. When the last time you saw him go for a run down a wing? However, the worst thing about him is his lack of composure under pressure. I hate to say it but he is reminding me of B.Ellis. I hope he can grow some confidence and start to back himself more... but the signs atm are not there.

I thought he did ok yesterday but seriously drifts out of games at times. Reckon we keep him in next week, he needs a run of games IMO.

A great game by Connor tonight.....his poise, hence his decision making was good....a great run down tackle... and elite foot skills...he will be great for us.
He will still have his bad spurts, but in the big picture, he will be awesome..

He took massive steps tonight....

Hasn't started the year overly well, however thought tonight was a good step forward, liked his work rate, even if he didn't get a heap of it.

Was okay. Hit the bare minimum standard required.

Meanwhile Blakely is racking up 30 touches a week.

Every time I checked Connor was on Goddard. In the first half our lad was noticeably absent. :hihi And you'd be within your rights to suggest that he not play on Goddard again for at least a year.

But a youngster on a geriatric. Things can turn around quicker than you think. And just as it was Connor lagging behind when Goddard got off the leash in the first half it was the old boy lost in the second while Connor was on the gallop. (Connor had a couple of rotations forward.)

It was big game for our lad. I thought he came of age last week but it may have been more the case last night. Young Connor looks a senior footballer regularly now.

Very early in his career he showed surprising composure and incisiveness of use but that just disappeared as he was asked to run to AFL levels. It seems to be showing through again. And he's running games out.

I'm a bit of a fan of the son of Sarah.

Right again, Dyr. The boy's slowly but surely turning into a man.

Showing the way; just need CEllis and Markov to follow in his footsteps and we will become much more of a force to be reckoned with.

Mena's four-bounce run deserved a goal; should have taken another bounce and put it through himself. FL near useless tonight.

Great call Jack.

He doesn't get brushed aside like he use to.

He got a bit of ball on the inside which was great.
