Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Will probably be pooh poohed by many but I think he will end up as one of great players of the RFC. I also reckon he could captain the club one day. He's got plenty of time - just think he is a pure footballers together with an absolute commitment and beautiful skills. As I say he's got time.... Love him.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

His making some errors as all kids do, what I now like about him is he seems to be getting in more contests and trying to win his own footy, looks like his building towards becoming more rounded, going ok

Yep, I think his benifiting from continued games and game time, building confidence and getting used to the tempo

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Didn't think he had much of a game last night, something that will happen to all the youngsters as they develop. Can't fault his efforts n continuous attempts to stay involved in the game n have an impact somehow.
More than comfortable with the all round efforts of our kids this year, there's been some heat thrown at Mendoo, C Ellis, Rioli, Shorty n George while the teams been going poorly. Good hard miles into a bunch of talented kids that will only stand them in good stead for the future.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

He makes positive mistakes, taking the game on, trying to make things happen. They're the best kind to make, especially for a youngster.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Was prepared to run and carry, made some bludgers but moved the ball forward and broke a few lines. Well done you fella your going to be a good one.

Yes he sticks out for doing that. With Lids our best at breaking the lines with running. Just need to be a better user of the ball. Our best player at breaking the lines is Jack because of his excellent ball use both sides of his body.

Yes he was a bit patchy early but late in the game did some good things. I think, however, that we have some good long term players from our recruiting team. CEllis, Menadue, Short and Rioli can all play and will get better and better.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Massive fan. Would say our best draftee since flossy, but after the last couple of weeks Rioli may claim that.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

He's had a good year so far and benefited from playing games in the ones, but looking a bit like he needs a rest. Still young and needs to put some more muscle on that frame.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Thought he was very ordinary yesterday. Disposal was horrible. If that was Grigg or Houli, people would be baying for a sacking.

He's clearly not a lost cause and he kept trying to get in the game which is a positive. But he has to be kept to a standard and he was below that last night.

Yep. Back to the 2nds for a few weeks and time for Oleg Oleg Oleg to debut.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Must admit I've gone off him a bit in the last few weeks. Great endeavour but panics way too much, even considering how young he is. His skills are pretty rough around the edges.

Having said that I'd drop Chaplin, Morris and Hunt before I'd even consider sending him back to the magoos.

Yeah I thought his disposal out in the open was poor yesterday by foot and hand. He was good however in close.

Re. Your point on Grigg or Houli copping it well no issue with that. They are senior players with 150 games experience. Connor is a kid in his second year and needs to be given games.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

You don't mind the kids maybe some mistakes as they will learn.

I like this kid and once he gets some more muscle on him will be a beauty, runs , has pace and tries to carry and break lines.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

It's another game under his belt. Until he is physically cooked and needs a spell keep playing him.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Can't wait for him to put on a few kilo's, he'll be hard to stop.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Keep playing him. Really important to get as many games into him as possible. Could become a pretty handy footballer for the Tigers in a year or two.
