Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I really like this guy and feel he has a future, but he looks like a deer in headlights out there. With our stupid game plan I feel he doesn't know what to do out there, it's run and dash that I want to see but it seems like that has already been coached out of him. Felt sorry for him last night as most things he did last night turned to crap. And if Handbrake is here for another 2 years then his career may be over

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Needs a rest. Was great early in the season but the extra attention is getting to him. Problem is who do you bring in. Not a lot waiting in the wings right now.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Our game plan doesn't help kids get used to AFL footy as there is not enough running support and hence are gang tackled when they get the ball.

not ready ???

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Look timid & unintrested last night.

Needs a spell. Needs to feel good about his football again.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

The gazelle has been caught by the lions of the AFL.
It would be nice just one day to see someone Shepard him. Gets destroyed in one on ones
Good kid

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

If he ends being half as good as Grigg I will eat my hat. :cutelaugh

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Certainly an example of investing in kids this year, because he is struggling to get much of it

Was all over once Leysy anointed him the best of our kids

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Needs a rest in the vfl. Not up to it the past few weeks.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

He needs to spend 4 days a week eating Sov's from hollywoods. He is thinner then the point post

Totally agree with this. Not going hard enough at the contest.
Needs to know games aren't handed out.

lol, games aren't handed out? At Richmond? Haha. I do agree though and have been saying for a couple of weeks, he needs a rest. He was great early in the season but he's light framed and doesnt seem to be handling the body contact well atm. Will be fine just needs a break. I check pressure acts every week and he is always up there in that area, he has a great work ethic which will allow him to go far.

Indeed, looked skinny as a rake out there. Looking at the side on the park last night, they were noticibly lighter than a mature side like Hawthorn. Menedue, Rioli, C.Ellis, Castagna being the obvious examples. Do we reckon these blokes will fill out considerably? Or are they naturally just predisposed to being skinny flanker type build, not unlike a Jordan McMahon?

I don't remember the likes of Deledio, Martin, B.Ellis being quite as light as this generation of youngsters.

I agree, if we were up an running I think he'd be travelling a lot better, going to take a bit of time

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

many would recall the comment made by Blair Hartley at the draft night. " He is going to take 3 years"

That would have been referring to his physical attributes. Menadue will be a player once he feels he can compete in the physical environment.

I think everyone would agree with you. He needs time.
