Welcome to Richmond - Jayden Short

Yeah, Short in the guts with TT and Hops gives us a bit of pace and a left foot, with deep penetration (easy now) on both sides. It's why I like Balta in there too.

Short does gives us a point of difference in the middle.

As for Rioli moving forward that’s crazy talk. He has gone past that. He was regressing when he was playing there. Now he is in AA form off half back.
Yeh there's only Sinclair from the Saints that is better than Daniel at HBF IMO. He's a star there.

Where is this from ?

So I read this that Short should have gone at 49% but is going better than expected while Marlion by foot is diabolical?

Is this rebound from 50's or inside 50's?
Champion Data.

“A negative kick rating indicates a player is not executing the kicks as well as the competition average, and a positive kick rating shows a player is hitting the target more often than the competition average,”

“We take into account the amount of pressure the player is under and what type of kick they are trying to pull off ,and can compare that to the competition average across the past 10 years to work out what the expected hit rate is for each kick.”

So despite a PRE myth that Short isn't a good kick just looks like it, the data suggests that he is.

And Marlion is diabolical, that is rotten.

That wouldn't be career though, just this year I assume?

To the eye for this year that would be about right. Career not so much.

Haven't we tried Short in the guts several times before - without much success ?
He has been lamented on here as not being a mid, I think he's best as a back flanker or wing. But there's too many PRE favourites who occupy those roles for PRE to consider him and option. I think we need to find a way to have Short on a wing rolling back and helping the back six and being an outlet. It's time for K-Mac to go.
Or we move Daniel back forward and have Baker and Short down back. We have too many like types. If you trade Short, you are trading our major point of difference in an area that we are so bad in , kicking. Then you have to find a way to get Brown and Banks into this mix. They are competing for these roles as well. It's a mess.

Well, as as been said several times by several posters, we are overloaded with HBF-Wing types.

jeez that could be benchmark for opinion dexterity?

you'll be calling for Ben Miller to represent us in Olympic boxing next week.
I supported the move last year. With the two bulls it's an option.

Repeated memo direct from the Department of Lost Causes.

Yep Shorty back and Daniel forward.

Daniel had one bad year after breaking up with little Fev and everyone thought he was going to be delisted. Really? Such a denial of history and his important roles in three flags. He is stronger than ever now and after Jack, he is our cleverest forward who never panics in close games and has the unique xfactor and the ability to bring other players into the game. Watch the finals series again for his score involvements.
No one is saying Daniel is not playing well on the back flank, but the team needs him on the forward line.
Now Shorty.
Loves the play in front of him and is a natural sweeper and user of space. His B and F year is all the evidence you need that he is the man for half back flank.

QED.
