Welcome to Richmond - Jayden Short

totally agree. With Broady back next week, maybe Balta as second ruck
With Broad back next week, send Baker into the middle (he should be wherever the ball is). Keep Balta as a defender, where he has played his best footy. Moving him around over The past years has stilted his development, although he is getting on top of it now. Also get Vlastuin a pair of screw ins, he is falling over all the time, it cost us two goals on Monday.

As a final note on the backline Ralphsmith should never be allowed to kick out from defence ever again.

We look so much better with him in the side. While his foot skills are not elite, he stands head and shoulders above 95% of the side when it comes to disposal.

I reckon we should also use it as an opportunity to play Baker forward. He would give us forward pressure but also be dangerous with ball in hand. Or we could.jjst persist with Mansell!

At least Short is prepared to kick the football forward. I just wish it was with a bit more success so he can show the coaches that they have a terrible game plan.

Was everywhere in the last. A bright light on a dark day. Next skipper?
Went into the middle and had 14 touches and 4 clearances in the last.

Has come back and shown he is a point of difference in a very drab side.

At the moment, the only player who can break lines via foot.

The kick to Jack across the ground was a thing of beauty, about 6 blokes in the competition could see that kick and then half of that 6 could actually hit it.

We have 3 of the better small half backs in the league, but probably only want to play 2 of them back. Who moves and where?

We could look at moving The Prince to a wing but it would rob us of our best line-breaking runner out of defence.

Only one of them can kick goals. Daniel back up forward for mine.
Maybe, they all play different, and can offer different positives both down back and up the ground, but Rioli up forward might be worth a roll as he is, or at least was, the best true goal kicker of the 3.

Or maybe Baker (or Short) and Rioli both play forward and Cotch goes down back.

How drastic we need to be depends on how far off we think we are.

For me this makes the most sense, fills a need.

And have drafted two back flankers in Banks and Brown. Maybe if Banks debuts it might be curtains for K-Mac but that still leaves us Baker, Short and Rioli.

Which brings us back to Rioli going forward and teaming with his Uncle. It makes the most sense but doesn't seem right somehow.

Is Daniel a swingman? Do we have a three-way rotation between Short-Baker-Rioli between the back flank and the forward pocket?

That might be the answer.

I flagged this as a possibility a week ago.

Send Baker to DRiolis role and move DR forward.
His got his confidence back and his foot gives him no issues. With him there it might do wonders playing with his uncle MRJ???

We still have some kids I want to see that could provide us an injection of enthusiasm and hope.

Let’s see what changes are made this week and how we run out Saturday against WC.

The simplest solution is probably to move Shorty to the wing, working back to help with coverage. Three-way wing rotation with Marlion and KMac.

I don't think moving Daniel forward is a good idea.

Short does gives us a point of difference in the middle.

As for Rioli moving forward that’s crazy talk. He has gone past that. He was regressing when he was playing there. Now he is in AA form off half back.
