Short won a BnF in a premiership year. No one is saying he's untouchable or can't be upgraded on.
No one is saying the game has passed Shorty by either. Or that he’s personally responsible for the position we’re in now. Or other rubbish conversations.
Many of our players could be upgraded if you can afford to recruit 22 champions. But you can’t.

No one said anything about 22 champions. There's nuance between an 'upgrade' and a 'champion'.
One tactic that has seemingly decreased in importance this year is switching to the wings. With more sides willing to go corridor it leaves the wide switch as an occasional play.

McKintosh about to resign for another 2-3 years has me thinking that the club may still value defensive wingers that flap their arms and cost us games.
