It’s well known that Hogan was very keen to get to a city that wasn’t an AFL hotspot, he doesn’t like the spotlight. This was a time that he was struggling with personal issues, his health and the death of a close family member.
He ideally wanted to go either to Sydney or one of the QLD clubs. He has said it in interviews.
As soon as the Giants option was real we weren’t a chance.

This game is a cracker. Lots of fabulous play goals and marks. Ward kicks a finals classic to give GW 2g buffer.
