Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

Nothing funnier than listening to opposition supporters blame the umpires when they lose. The muppets normally have no idea.

But somehow it's different when we do it ?

That ugly little pr!ck should get two weeks for that.

Dog act by a dog of a dirty little sniper. :fire

Newy didnt even get a free kick for *smile*'s sake.

And neither did Milne when Jake tripped him last week.. In fact we got a goal out of that. Can't remember too much criticism of the umpires when that happened.

The trip by Kingy didnt have the same effect as the elbow by Ballantyne. ::)

Umpire's fault for not noticing it. It wasn't as visible as Newman being down near vomiting for a few minutes.

How long was Milney on the ground after the trip? Newman didn't get up for a few minutes following a dirty pre meditated act.

The AFL also needs to look at...the little solar plexus punch Cotch got when running back to the centre.

Again, either Cotchin is guilty of acting (would be unusual), or the blow really hurt.

Not surprised at all, this sort of thing happens pretty much every time we play Freo.

I don't generally barrack for opposition players to be suspended, but I hope the media treats these incidents the same way as a Jake King indiscretion, real or imagined.

Easier to blame outside forces than to admit to the teams failings. I think the term is "victim mentality" and we have it in spades.

Sound like Collingwood supporters.

Actually I think the problem was Cotch didn't act enough.

No-one's blaming just the umpires.

but how do you justify penalising Vickory for hodling the ball when you are tackle around the head. If the Giesh gives this the all clear then yu can tackle anyway you like. Crucial time 7 points down and on the wing.

I thought the game was played at Subiaco in the first half.
We were poor as were the umpires.
We were worse than them though.

Also of interest was how they found 3 free kicks for Richmond right after the half time break. They were there, but none of them affected the game, and they wouldn't have been paid in the first half. The evener uppers are very irritating.

Is it that hard to believe people other than yourself have some idea about footy and have valid opinions on the game the just watched?

Accounting.

The Vickery missed free was a disgrace! the umpire was clearly blind sided though.
A few iffy decisions but most were there imo, we were just lazy and undisciplined.

Was no umpiring farce today.

If we were efficient they would have affected the game. But we wasted them, (like we did 70% of pur possessions) and therefore they didn't affect the game.

We played like *smile*.

The umps dont respect us they treat us like we dont belong in the big league and dont give us the frees we deserve.
If theres a 50/50 free against one of the top 8 sides you can count on it going against us

Whinging about umpires when we played like we played today is just trying to deflect the blame.

If the good RFC turned up today the umpires wouldn't have had any influence on the match.

Two separate issues there. This is the umpires are hopeless thread, the Richmond played badly is somewhere else, in fact I'm surprised it hasn't crashed this site.

I firmly believe that the umpiring seems to be getting worse every week. Despite the minimal number of frees paid to us, some were laughable and shouldn't have been paid, as for the mountain of possession freo were gifted, I actually haven't the words to explain it. So many bad decisions that I can't be bothered pinpointing any particular one.

In the past I have sympathized with the umpires as the AFL makes the game harder and harder to officiate, but today the umpires were absolutely hopeless as a group. I can't continue to write as I am just dispairing at the whole mess that is the officiating of our great game. I only hope that the umpires go back to being just average to bad soon rather than the completely bloody woeful that they were today. I was very restrained at the game today, but on reflection I am disgusted with the fact that I pay $2500 in memberships to put up with the crap that the umpiring fraternity dished up today.

Smarten up you clowns!!!!!!!!

On a different and more pleasing note, I think today was a record crowd between Richmond and freo, so well done us. Pity we played terribly, but keep the faith, if we play well we can beat anyone on their day.
