Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

agree, but, on 4. The stand rule is a travesty and all over the shop, we all know that. But putting that aside, JG has been cribbing the mark all season. Quite a few times I've thought he's really pushing it, and on this one he extra-pushed it. And also calling a player back a couple of metres is different to if they keep walking past the mark when you've told them where it is. He didn't run to the spot, he ran over it.

What, along with every other player in the league? Cribbing the mark is rife, you see it all the time, players go a metre or two over the mark and point at the ground.

Gets penalised . . . sometimes, occasionally, when the ump feels like it. At other times they just bring the player back and if the player doesn't go back quick enough a 50m penalty is paid . . . sometimes, occasionally, when the ump feels like it.

What a mess.

How about Naughton throwing it out in the 1st qtr
Footscary goal.
Yep thats 5. Ryan tried to dispose by raising his hands in the 1st quarter on the edge of our D50, probably doesn't get a hand to it, paid HTB - correctly IMO
Naughton does the exact same thing, raises arms and doesn't get a fist to it, raising his arms that high is surely a sign he can dispose of it - not paid.

2 identical incidents, 2 opposite outcomes and goals to Bulldogs. Its a joke how inconsistent this game has become. As someone has said on here before, this is Gill's legacy.

Gilligan has turned the entire football world against us.
Have you ever seen a club that gets so much spoken about them when they lose but silence when they win.
And don't get me started when the media pile on when there could he a repeatable incident.
Why was the Footscary bloke running into lynch not looking at the ball.

We need to learn how to dive. They look at the reaction from the player and assume the act was worse than it was. They conned several frees from the umps in their forward 50. Those 2 to Naughton and McComb in the last were incredibly soft especially when you review what we don't get in our F50.
True , there was a hand from young most certainly not a shove and the *smile* dived like an Olympian , the high contact also , Vlas kept his feet , his opponent likes stunned mullet fell to ground . Review the tape and so many incidents of high contact , baker cumbo dusty all ignored , Ryan held on boundary didn’t have the ball

Cotch was also held in the 2nd (could have been the 4th, pretty sure we were kicking to the PR end) I think, the most obvious hold, ball was out in front of him, Dogs player grabs him as he's running for it. Cotchs arms go out wide to show the hold, maggots still see it and refuse to pay it.

Watching Bummers v Giants
where it’s play on or ball up umps refusing to pay frees
to half time it’s 2 frees to each side

It’s been quite odd at times, their reluctance to adjudicate.

I'd prefer it that way. They don't pay them to us anyway, so we'd be ahead of the ledger if they just didn't pay any frees every week.

Most players cribbing the mark are at the point of play and fudge where they think the mark is until the umpy calls them back. This time the umpy indicated where the mark was n Fridge ran in from ten metres away pointing at the ground n blatantly overran the mark by a metre or more. As stupid a fifty as you could give away.

Glad you said that so I didn't have to TM, especially seeing you won't cop it. Spot on assessment, although I think your metre is about 3 skinny.
