Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

I went to pub for lunch.
Everyone was saying Tigers robbed.

I'm still angry at that last defensive effort though.
Abysmal.

no.
and nor do the people i've spoken to today .. Tigers and otherwise ..
My best guess is we got a free for too high. Hemmed in Baker is told to take the advantage by the ump but there's no advantage so he stops & walks the ball over the boundary in confusion. He then gets pinged for deliberate..a Tiger then says something like Hardwick did in the box & Wilmot gets a 50m penalty for descent then drills the goal.

Unbelievable influence by the umpire.

The 50 against Cumbo was also stupid due to the large crowd noise.

Yet there was inevitability areound it as soon as baker stopped. You just knew he would be pinged. And then you knew the 50 was coming. Umpires are really so predictable in their pedanticness.

I’m madder about that than I am about the goal review. It was a horrible effort from our players. Ineptitude in its worst form. I still can’t believe they didn’t kill the ball. It will haunt for a while……..

Still worries me they haven't learnt anything again.

Baker 100% deserved to be pinged. Decided to take the advantage and then tried to bail out.

Even his coach called him a *smile* idiot.

The AFL loves developing clear processes, and then arbitrarily ignoring them and provide no explanation as to why.

Then, when it completely *smile* up and becomes farcical nonsense,

Ticks it off

As much as it hurts, I have to agree with TBR here. Ump didn't call advantage until Bakes took off. The decision to take the advantage rests with the players, the umps don't call it until a player forces them too by playing on. Bakes played on.

thats what I mean. Logically, objectively the process was arbitrarily ignored, on multiple levels. But they "tick it off" with no explanation, knowing that they aren't fooling anyone.

They distract, stonewall, ignore, disrespect truth, more gormlessly than any individual or organisation i can ever recall.

Serious question,

What would happen if a richmond member put a FOI request in for the conclusive evidence on the lynch 5 points?

Or if foi doesnt apply and its commercial in confidence (im no lawyer), you civil suit in court and supoena the ARC bloke?

Theyde pull the police body camera trick after they shoot a black person and just go

'It wasnt switched on' or 'we lost it'

Wouldnt they?

Grant Thomas has been hammering them on it on twitter. To paraphrase: "If the footage is decisive and you've ticked it off, show us the decisive bit?"

I feel dirty saying this but I'm watching armchair experts and they are still talking about the goal review and nobody has much of a clue, still arguing about the possible existence of secret footage, still saying it probably doesn't exist, but if it does, just be transparent and show us as per the ARC raison detre, saying one of the least convincing ARC decisions was also the most quick, saying the bests camera angles were people's phones in the crowd. What a joke.

Because he couldn't hear the flog due to loud crowd. Same with Cumbo later when he had to stand.

And theylle just ignore grant thomas.

A few years ago, a fox camera crew ran onto the ground after a goal and filmed amongst the player celebration.

It was so anomolous and weird, i wrote to the afl integrity dept and quoted their own rules about nobody entering the field of play during play.

I followed up the unreplied letter with a phone call and just got put on hold for an hour then cut off.

I repeated, then gave up cause i had a life to lead.

Theyde do stonewalling retreats and workshops, run by an ex-telstra person
